Is she eating too much?

I only feed baby G 2 main meals a day – lunch and dinner. Usually I will give her a slice of fruit (pitaya/red dragon fruit or golden kiwi) for lunch to complete her meal. She has porridge for both meals which I only cook once a day. The remaining (for dinner) I will keep in a 500ml Thermos jar. So, each meal she has a small bowl of the porridge (about < 200ml) which to my standard is rather normal… not too much and not too little. In between she gets to suck on the boobies on and off for water supply since she don’t want to drink water.

The problem is, she off load too much and too often! Her stool is often very soft but not the watery type so I assumed it is ‘healthy’? She used to have corn-shit when I first started her on solid but after I started giving her pitaya and kiwi she has been having soft stool.

Now, the question which has been hanging on my mind since PiggyBeng asked me if I am feeding her too much?

How much do you feed your baby and how often do they poo?

Not fun to shop with him

Ok… this is referring to PiggyBeng.

Last time we used to go groceries shopping together since I want him to pay instead of me paying first and demand from him with the receipts later. I’m such a disorganized person so many times I will forget to pass him the receipts and thus all the bills I’ll have to absorb. Not fair since I don’t work. :P

PiggyBeng is one impatient man when it comes to shopping. He is very focus. He writes down what to get and when we reached the hypermarkets or shopping complexes he will zoomed in to the areas where he was supposed to picked up the things. :D After he got all his things he will ask ‘can we go now? No walking around shopping for ‘windows’! If I insisted to shop further, he will pull a long face or show me he is feeling ‘real bored’ waiting. Therefore I have to train the kids to love shopping… so the daddy can bring them go get entertained while waiting for mommy to shop!

When I first married here, I dare not drive so I have to depend on him to drive me out to buy things. Imagine how boring that can be… basically I am stuck at home most of the time and only get to go out during the weekends. I am so thankful I finally gathered enough courage to drive as I need to prepare myself to send Darrius to school.

Now I can go do my shopping without him (since he gave me a sub-card as he wanted me to cancel my own cc due to the RM50 charge). I felt so blessed! Even though I have to lug Baby G with me at least I can go out and smell the roses… the dirty air actually! hahahahaha Well, Penang is so small and we only have 2 major shopping complexes but it is still better to face the four walls at home the whole day… especially this year when PiggyBeng has to do night telecon 3 out of 5 nights a week!

And since I shop on my own I can keep tab on the customer rewards at each of the places I shopped. These comapnies have implemented good POS systems where they can have complete records of customers’ spending. They gave us rewards based on our buying patterns and we can get further discount and selected items which we often purchased.

PiggyBeng never give a look at all these stuff so I’ll have to keep check on all these petty stuff… after all, I’m a petty yellow face auntie mah! :P

Though I don’t enjoy shopping with Ah Beng but I enjoyed the perks he game me… a car filled with petrol (can you believe if I tell you I’ve not pump any petrol in my 2 years of driving?????!!!) and a card to use (though I still gotta tell him what I bought) at my own discreation. :P I should not complain so much hor? :D

She has upgraded

The little princess is no longer a ‘baby’ now as we think she is more like a toddler! Although she is not as mobile as those who is older but she sure gets her voice and actions heard and seen! She has started to combat crawl the past 2 weeks (still did not managed to capture that moment!) as well as ‘climbing’ on things where she can pull herself up… ie; the playpen!

All the while we put the top tier (or commonly known as the bassinet) so that it is easier for me to put her and pick her up. Those who knew me I am not that very tall so bending down over a high barricade can be a torture to my back bone!

The little monkey has been very ‘notti’ since she discovered her added mobility. She will do her ’superwoman’ stunt each time we put her in the playpen. Then one day, I discovered she no longer have problems reaching the sides of the playpen but instead rocking happily bending her head over the side! I was so horrified upon seeing that!!!!

Therefore, to avoid unwanted ‘events’ from happening, we decided it is time to give her an upgrade…

.

.

Yes, we took away the top tier and put her at the bottom! This way she will be safe if I leave her alone for a while. No more heart attacks if she decided to do ’superman’ flying stunt down the playpen!

Lack of postings and comments

I think I have sort of neglected this blog since the conception of Baby G. Sometimes I do have a lot of stuff to post but once I sat down, those ideas will evaporate one after another and when I finally wanted to type out… there don’t seems to be anything to write about! My brain felt so empty. Though I have wanted to capture every little milestone Baby G made or even Darrius, procrastination tends to take the cake! Or maybe it was laziness!!!

To realized that I actually been blogging since 2006, I found my writing skills has not improved much but thank God, I still can make a few bucks out of this boring blog. I also realized that readership has dipped so much compared to 2 years back. Probably everyone has moved on to Facebook and Twitter. I am not a great follower of either coz there are just too much to follow!!!! I am amazed at some who can blog, Facebook and Tweet all the time! :P

Anyway, I guessed people just need to be reminded all the time. I found that if I do not go blog hopping and leave comments, then lesser will come for a visit and ultimately they will be gone after a while. It is always has to be two-way, you blog and you must comment on others in order to get recipocate. A tiring job indeed!

As much as I wanted to visit others’ and leave a comment but I do not have so much time as most time I just browse through my reader. So basically I am a silent reader! :P Also, I think I have moved on to my other area of interest now… mainly in bento-ing. My quest in perfecting my bento-ing skill has taken much of my time as well as minding the kids and the house full time.Remember I don’t have a maid and my MIL is having a better life than an air-stewardess. :P My parents are so far away, I don’t even have a chance to drop the kids there so I can go and have a little ‘ME’ time. My ‘ME’ time means I have to lug Baby G along since I am still her milk supply.

Sometimes I think I am crazy. I cooked at least 2 meals a day on most days. I seldom freeze my food as I preder to cook and eat everything fresh. My freezer is filled with ice-creams instead as I have been snacking on that to relief stress! (*o*)

Ok, this is just another occasional rambling post… How I wish I can get some nice and fluffy patio furniture cushions and start dreaming away without having to think of what to cook next! Do you know that it is very stressful to cook when you have an active toddler who never stop asking you for this and that and a crying baby who do not want to play anything except being carried?

*Hmph* When can I get back my life?

Can’t stand her cries no more!

I can’t remember when Baby G started her crying spell. Probably about 2 months back if I can still remember clearly… She don’t sleep like a baby any more as she wakes up almost every hour during the night just so she can get boobed (copied this word from mamapumpkin). Initially I told myself that since she could be teething, hence all the crying due to the pain but her teeth have sprouted so she should be feeling better. Guess I was wro0ng. I think I really had enough of this wakey-wakey business during the night. I am not a good sleeper like PiggyBeng (he won’t know if the world explode) so this waking up many times in the night really put a toll on my health. I am turning into a Dracula! (*-*) My problem is, I can go back to sleep after waking up. I don’t take naps either.

Baby G don’t just cry… she will scream louder and louder if I chosed to ignore her. Afraid that the noise will wake her daddy who needs his 8-hour of beauty sleep else he can’t function the next day, this mommy has to sacrifice.

.

We have never had these kind of situations before with Darrius. Darrius was an easy baby and he don’t cry that much even when he was teething. The only thing was, he has a few rounds of fever which Baby G does not have.

After weeks/ months of these, I think I can take it no more and my last resort was taking this measure…

.

.

Yes… I gave her a chut-chut!!!!! It was really something I hate to do but I don’t have or can’t find a better solution! I don’t know how this chut-chut will perform but I am just going to give it a try.

She is already going to be 9-month old in less than 10 days so she might not take it so well as those who got started earlier in their life. But then again, no harm trying.

Bought her a pair of this NUK rubber soothers which supposed to be like real ‘nipple’ so babies were supposed to feel ‘comforted’ by it. Wanted to get the silicone ones but they seemed to be more expensive and looked fake but cleaner. Maybe if Baby G wanted to continue to be ‘chut-chuted’ then I’ll get them for her.

Let her suck on it yesterday and she thought that it was a toy so she kept pulling it out and play with it by biting other areas except the ‘rubber teat’! So I forced her to nap with it and she did put on a tough fight before she finally went to lalaland still sucking it. Some improvement. However, during night time, she refused to have it and insisted on the boobs instead so no choice gotta boobed her else she won’t stop crying.

Then just now, I tried to stuffed into her mouth when I put her to nap and she gave another tough fight but mommy won again and she went to sleep still sucking it. Can’t wait till she is able to sleep on her own while sucking this fake ‘boobies’!

Going to US again?

All of us has US Visa. Even little Glennedine has one. It is not cheap to obtain one and imagine the hassle of going through to get it! So, should we just leave the visas sit there and rot? It only has a validity of 10 years so after it expired, we will have to go through the whole process of applying for it again. Both, Darrius and mine only left with 6 years while PiggyBeng and Glennedine has longer expiry date.

I have always wanted to go to Florida so I could go to Disney World and Sea World but Glennedine is still too young to enjoy all these. I can’t go without her though. Therefore, PiggyBeng said we should wait for another 2 years before we plan a trip there.

However, I also wanted to go earlier so that I can view some of the Outer Banks foreclosures and see if we could find something to invest in. Well, since the property pricing has been low for a while so it is worth checking them out.

So, should we make the trip now or wait?

He wants to be like Mr Bean

Mr Bean has a buddy – his brown Teddy and so Darrius decided that he also wanted a buddy and he found a rubber teddy bear and named him Teddy.

That was fine with me.

However, what is not fine with me is:

  • Darrius wanted to take Baby G’s pillow and bolsters so that ‘Teddy’ can sleep with them
  • Darrius wanted to put ‘Teddy’ on the table when he eats and do his homework
  • Darrius wanted to laugh like Mr Bean
  • Darrius wanted to have his car number plate the same as Mr Bean’s

All these wanted to be just like Mr Bean business is getting on my nerves! It annoyed me so much that I banned him from watching that one and only Mr Bean VCD… which I bought! I blame myself for buying that. I swear! :( Sometime I get so annoyed by Darrius that I wanted to pull PiggyBeng’s  mens ties and strangle him!!! Arrgghh!!

Ok, this is not funny… I don’t mind if he wants to be Barack Obama but Mr Bean????? (>o<)

Yikes! Floating poops!!!!!

I did not give Baby G a bath till around 10.30am this morning as I need to do some cooking first. Thought I’ll bathe her before putting her in for her morning nap. Each time after I’m done bathing her, I’ll leave her in the tub so she can play for about 5-10 minutes.

While she was playing there happily (so happened I was passing by), suddenly her face turned into those ‘pushing’ mode. Sensing that she might want to do her BIG biz, I quickly asked her if she wants to ‘ngh-ngh’? I even moved her up and check if there’s any poop. Nothing. So I put her back and let her continue with her play while I go back to wash the dishes.

Once I’m done with the dishes, I intended to bring her up and get her dressed. And the moment I saw the murky water in the tub…. I shrieked!!!!!!

Gosh! I can’t believe it that this can happen again!!!! Holy cow!!!!!

Again? Ok, back to memory lane…. Darrius did the same thing too!

Actually, for the past 2 days, Baby G has been depositing A LOT…. yes, so much so that I have to change her diaper almost every 2 hours! Some were like goat shits and some were like cooked oats! Bleah~ Luckily we are using CDs… else will go bankrupt if we are using dispo!

She actually did a big one in the morning before we sent Darrius to school. Therefore, I did not anticipate that she will have another so soon… I mean, so much to download meh????? Such a small tummy!

Ok, I can hear my mom laughing there… :(

When the baby starts to grow…

you get a wee bit more time to yourself and even some peace when you eat!

Yesterday we went for dim sum breakfast at our regular dim sum place. Ever since Baby G’s arrival, we hardly go there or any hawkers as it is difficult to place her since these places can be very cramp… well, not condusive for babies! In fact, this is our 3rd time there this year! We used to go at least once a week before Baby G’s arrival! Not that I miss the place… just that I felt a little sick with the noodle soup that PiggyBeng packed for me each weekend!

.

.

Before Baby G knows how to sit unsupported, I would rather eat whatever PiggyBeng buy for me at the comfort of our home. I don’t want to trouble myself to fuss about her when we are eating outside though PiggyBeng don’t mind to carry her while he eats. :) Anyway, now that she can sit and even ‘feed’ herself, we can all enjoy our meal… at least for just a little while! :D

What a cosy night

It has been raining the past two nights which is really fantastic since the weather was really hot for most of the days! Though the sky may be cloudy but the humidity was still high. Even after I washed my hair I can still feel itchy all over my scalp as I perspired so much due to the heat!

With the cooling weather last night it was so nice to nestle in the bed under the blanket at last. However, we don’t need any heated blanket yet since it was not that cold! :P Unlike the time when we were in Perth or Melbourne. Don’t think we can survive the cold weather there without one!
