POS LAJU (Cheras) - The WORST EVER! Major Rant!

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, Blogging

Rant! Rant! Rant!

My confinement ended almost 3 weeks ago. Some nice blogging friends sent Glennedine some pressies using our beloved postal service to my parents’ place in Cheras thinking of a little surprise. Our postal service is so good that out of all the pressies, only 1 arrived!

So, after checking with some mommies who sent us stuff, we discovered that the POS LAJU has a bunch of BIG LIARS! One mommy called up and checked on her parcel and was told that they have sent to my parents’ place but there were no one at home to receive the parcel and so they dropped a collection card. However, after checking with my dad, he said he did not see any Pos Laju guy coming nor receive any collection cards in our mailbox.

Then I called again last Wednesday to ask if I can reschedule for the parcel to be sent. The guy from the customer service said I can and rescheduled the parcel to be sent to my parents’ place last Friday but Friday came and gone and there were nothing in sight.

I told Yvonne about it and she called them again and she said I’ll have to collect from their office (in Belakong) by Monday (today) or else it will be sent back to her. So, I told my dad to collect on my behalf this morning.

Guess what???

The parcel is in Bangi!!!! And how the hack they told Yvonne that the parcel is in Cheras???

POS LAJU in Cheras is one of the worst postal service I’ve known. Your stuff will either dissapear or never arrive unless you go check it out in their office!!! Gggrrrrrrr!!!!

Luckily the Pos Laju in Penang is much more reliable…. at least I received all my stuff so far…

Hospital Kajang is HOPELESS!!!

Published by Angeleyes under Rants

Rant! Rant! Rant! Arrrgghhh!

OK, I know it is not a good time to rant since Christmas is tomorrow… we should forgive and forget but something that happened just don’t let me have the giving heart!

If you read my earlier post about our traumatic experience earlier this week at hospital, you will know the background of the story. (I knew some of you asked me why not send Glenn to a private hospital or a private pead… the reason is, we don’t like the pead in the hospital where Glenn was born and we wanted to bring Glenn back to Penang so we can bring her to Darrius’s pead)

Yesterday afternoon, I received a call from the hospital telling me some of the blood results are back and told me there were some errors and requested us to bring Glennedine back to get more blood samples. I asked her what errors but she was unable to tell me and since it was quite late I did not want to rush to the hospital but to call again this morning to get a better picture before we drive all the way there.

Guess what I was told this morning?

The nurse said there could be errors done either by the doctor(s) who took the blood and labeled them wrongly or the lab made a mistake when they do the testing… WTF!!!!!!

SO, IS THAT OUR PROBLEM???????? They made a blunder and my poor baby has to suffer for it????? What logic is that???? Glenn suffered blue black on her hand for taking the blood samples. And what make them think I will bring my baby back there to let them torture her - again? My baby is only 3 weeks old!

The other thing that angered me even more is the way the nurse talked to me this morning. She sounded as if we are the one that caused the blunder and said that it was our prerogative (right word to use?) if we wanted to have the results back on time.

I tell you…. I have ZERO faith in our public hospitals man!

A traumatic experience

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, Health, Juz Glennedine

Glennedine’s jaundice level was like a roller coaster ride… going up and down for the past 2 weeks after she was discharged from hospital. Since she was peeing and pooing well, there was nothing more we could do as her level was not at the threatening/alarming level. Like usual, I just need to continue feeding her.

We brought her for another blood test last Saturday at the Klinik and the MO there thought her jaundice was a little prolonged so she told us that Glennedine should be referred to the paediatrician at the hospital for further investigation… there could be a probability that she has liver problem or urinary tract infection or etc… Oh well!

So, we went as told to Hospital Kajang (a place which I don’t have good feel) as it was the nearest public/community hospital in that area. I used to volunteer in that hospital during my St. John days so I kinda know a little about the hospital. Since it was the only public hospital there, you can imagine the amount of people visiting it… yeah… super long Q! Anyway, we were lucky we did not go that early so we are still better than those who went at 8am. They waited longer than us!

Back to our experience…

After the consultation, I was told to bring Glennedine to take some blood and urine samples for testing at the children ward. My poor girl has to take 5 tubes (about 5ml each) of blood samples and 2 bottles of urine for testing. The MO/doctors were not very professional… all were so young! They did not give me any word of assurance to make me feel better… they just told me to lie Glennedine down on the bed and asked me to leave the room. Glennedine was crying so loud I could feel my heart break! If Glennedine was not traumatized by the experience, I was!

They actually poked her hand to get her blood (now was all blue black) and poked her tummy (to the bladder) to collect her urine. I could certainly feel her pain… coz she cried till she was chocking at her throat when they gave her back to me to feed her. And funny thing is, there wasn’t a proper breastfeeding room at the children’s ward!

Anyway, the results will only be available 2 weeks later. However, I think Glennedine is so much better now (not because of the hospital visit of course!) so I was kinda regret bringing her to the hospital yesterday… *sigh*

Why they love to bribe with sweets?

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, PJT-A

Darrius has been in kindy for just 3 weeks but the amount of sweets he ate far surpass the amount he had for the last 4 years! I just don’t get it why some parents or guardians as well as teachers, love to use sweets to bribe all these little kids when they misbehave? Isn’t there a better way or better item to be used instead of sweets or candies?

Today, one of his classmate’s granny bought a whole box of Mentos and asked Madam Leong to distribute to all the pupils in Darrius’s class. Each of the kids get a stick! I was baffled when I found the stick in Darrius bag and I thought he has stole from his classmate. Though most of them still have their milk teeth but still…. the amount of sugar can be a threat to the little kids’ health!

I found out that some parents love to pack sweets or candies in their kids’ bags as a ‘treat’ but to me this is really a bad habit. If we award the kids once in a while is ok but to give them all these junks everyday, it could be hazardous to their health! There was this mommy who spoke to me when Darrius was still crying in the 2nd week to bribe him with sweets. She told me she did that to her girl and after a few months her girl finally stopped crying… Geez… a few months of sweets! *faint*

To me a set of beautiful teeth is priceless and I hope Darrius can have his milk teeth as long as possible. These pearly whites are not like metal buildings… Hope all these ‘loving’ parents can be more sensible… and responsible.

Another lucky streak

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, Bleh~, PJT-A, Blogging

This year I have been extremely lucky… probably because it is ‘MY’ year so everything seems to be aligned in a way… :)

I have meant to post this up earlier (March) but I did not get the ‘prize’ till last month.

It all started like this…

After Chinese New Year, I received a phone call from BonusLink. The lady on the other line told me I was one of the lucky person to be selected for the Shell - Win RM300 weekly campaign (or something like that… too long also cannot remember lioa) and asked me a few questions before I could claim my prize of RM300 plus 300 BonusLink points. Nothing complicated and I was told the cheque will be mailed to me within a month time. Great rite?

Ok, one month came and gone… I don’t see any cheque so I called BonusLink up and inquire what happened and I was once again being assured that the cheque has been issued and all I have to do is to wait for it. Then another month came and gone but still no sight of my RM300 cheque. However, I received my BonusLink statement and the 300 points has been credited into my account.

Again, I called BonusLink… feeling all so fed-up coz their very annoying answering machine will take you round and round for a good 5-8 minutes before being allowed to talk to a real person! And it is not even a Toll Free number!!! Imagine how much I have to pay when calling from Penang since the number is a KL number? All those calling and ranting sure works better than any fat burners!!!

This time the person told me he will need to check with Shell if my cheque has been sent out and he assured me he will call me back within a week. That week came and gone but still no news…  At that time I was battling with morning sickness so I just don’t give a damn in chasing them and leave it as it is…

Then, when I was in KL last month, my dad asked me if I have received the money and I told him NO. So, this time I was very determine to go for it… RM300 is not a big amount but neither it is small… can use as petrol money for our trip mah!

So, I called again to BonusLink and bug them till they give me the contact of the person in charge of the campaign and finally I was directed to the event company who handled the activity. I tried calling but no one seems to pick up the call so I decided to call Shell’s customer service and make a complain.

That works wonder!!! The guy from Shell helped me to get hold of the person in charge in the event company and finally I managed to get in touch with ’someone’… phew! After more than 6 months… I can see my $$$ again…

That RM300 was finally credited into my bank account end of last month…

You see, nothing comes for free… I have to waste some phone $$$ to get my so-called ‘windfall’. *sigh* Is this only happening in Malaysia???

He almost burn the house down!

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, Weekends, PJT-A, Family, Events

Yesterday was pretty warm after the afternoon rain so PiggyBeng decided to switch on the a/c in the living room and watch some movies. Before he closed the door between the living room and the dining room, he went to light up the burner and heat up the soup in the pressure cooker. He apparently put on ‘high’ heat as he thought he wanted to let it boil faster.

He then walked into the living room and lie down on the sofa watching the movie with us. He did not tell me he was heating up the soup. The volume from our home theater system was pretty loud so we can’t hear anything except the sound from the movie.

After almost an hour (I think) or at least 45 minutes, I smelt burnt smell coming to the living room. I turned to PiggyBeng who was almost half asleep lying down on the sofa if he was cooking something? He jumped up! And I was like…. OH NO!!!!!!

We ran to the kitchen and there were smoke filling part of the room! The pressure cooker were emitting black smoke! PiggyBeng quickly switch off the burner and release the pressure cooker’s valve and let all the pressure out’ The entire house smelt of burning smell which really yucky… given my current condition when my nose is extra sensitive.

First thing PiggyBeng said was ‘Die! The rubber is gone!’ referring to the rubber on the pressure cooker’s cover. I don’t know what he did after that as he told me to leave and not to inhale the smoke which might be toxic. While I was opening up all the windows, our neighbour came over to ask methere was something burning so I told her what happened.

PiggyBeng spent almost an hour cleaning the pressure cooker from burnt corn on the cobs and peanuts. It was corn soup we had that day. Everything almost turn into charcoal remains except a few corn on the cobs. I did not get to snap a pic… which I should to remind PiggyBeng of his carelessness!!!!!

It was only a few days ago I was talking about PiggyBeng boiling soup and we have this accident. I was glad the pressure cooker did not explode though we have heard of many of such stories. The pressure cooker did not have any damage except a blacken bottom inside and a burnt valve cap from the smoke/steam. I must say kudos to Tefal for creating such a good pot with admirable technology.

One thing after this incident, I am having qualm’s with PiggyBeng’s kitchen attitude! Obviously he’s getting old!!! I told him I will either get him a timer to hang around his neck or tie one of those cardboard displays around his neck so he would not forget he’s cooking something!

Lousy screamyx!

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, PJT-A

It is such a shame that we called ourselves Multimedia Super Corridor when our Internet line is one of the worst in the world. Could you believe it that we (those of us from the Northern region) are logged out from the rest of the world for more than 20 hours??? Imagine if I am running very important businesses, probably I would have lost lots of money!

Though I did not lose any business opportunities but I did lose some fortune. I was extremely pissed that I can’t access to the Internet so I went out shopping and bought lots of stuff! I almost bought myself a heart pendant jewelry with a 0.3 carat diamond which was on sale!! Luckily I decided to wait for further discount or else there goes my RM500!

Irresponsible parents!

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, News Links

Some parents left their kids to the care of their maids as they need to work but some parents are just plain irresponsible… they left their babies/kids and went for vacations!

I just can’t believe it that more and more appalling news greets me everyday where the root of the problem actually stemmed from none but the parents!

Just read about this piece of unfortunate news about a 3-month old baby was left in the care of a nanny as the parents went for a 1-month vacation! Can anyone beat that????

3-month old! How can a mother be so cold hearted to leave her new born baby to a stranger so she can go and enjoy herself for a freaking month??? She is supposed to breastfeed the baby till he is 6-month old the very least!

My boy is 3.5 years old and he has not slept a night without me!

Just to add, there was a baby boy in Miri, less than a month old who was starved to death recently after his parents allegedly forgot to feed him because they were too drunk!!! Gosh! I wonder why these people want to give birth to innocent and helpless kids if they are not ready to be parents and can’t take care of their kids?

Tweaking around WidgetBox and Theme templates

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, Bleh~, Technology

The past weeks I have been busy almost every other night trying to learn the tricks to tweak some codes on some theme/templates I downloaded. I must admit I can be an idiot when it comes to codes but I am learning…. though I’m not very good at them but I managed to break some on my own…. not the codes but the mystery!

If you have noticed the new widget box for my Cupcake blog, I have finally figured out how to make the images to appear instead of just having the headlines. Initially when I first started tweaking around WidgetBox, I practically wanted to scream my head off as I could never get what I wanted. I went around to ask those who has installed this widget but I could never get my answer. Therefore, I started some detective work and finding a solution.

What I discovered was, the images from my posts will not show if I am using WordPress! It will only show either the title or the title with summary. How stewpig is that rite??? So, I went to try some of my Blogspot/Blogger blogs and true enough, images from those blogs will appear on the widget box… (those people who has installed this widget seems to be using Blogger)

I just don’t understand why the program could not detect images from WordPress since so many people are using WordPress now.  Anyway, I am glad I managed to solve the mystery but I have to specially create a blogspot blog for my cupcake blog now and re-post all the posts, one by one!!! You will wonder why I don’t just import directly rite? Well….

You see, it seems that Blogger is still very behind time as compared to WordPress. Currently it can only be exported but can’t do any import unless it is from Blogger to Blogger. Silly! So I tried scouting for some coding but they are just too cheam for me! Therefore, I have to go through the hard way… which is, to re-post.

Then I was trying to get a new header for the new theme I downloaded. Since I can handle some simple commands in Photoshop and a little on Adobe Illustrator, I actually designed my own header with my own logo… can see that my work is quite amateurish since I have not been using Illustrator for ages!!! (fyi, I was a trained graphic designer but during the non computer days) However, I am quite satisfied with the results and can save some money asking for some designers to do it for me… :P (I drew that cupcake freehand leh!)

With the new header, I tried to upload it but it don’t seems to appear. Really head scratching!!! I tried so many times re-saving the file but nothing happens. Then I checked the original file and found that it is not a jpeg file but a png file! Dang! No wonder lah!

Now, I am grinning from ear to ear after I managed to break the mysteries!! 8)

I have been doing quite a lot of over-hauling with some of my blogs and that is why I have very limited time to blog hop! Hope to be back soon! :P

Jalan Alor is now Jalan Kejora?

Published by Angeleyes under Rants, Alamak!

What a news to greet my beautiful Saturday morning!

Just read from the online  newspaper that the ever famous food haunt in Bukit Bintang area, Jalan Alor has been changed to Jalan Kejora.

I understood that some old road names especially those that are named after some rich Chinese businessmen or the British Colonial have been changed periodacally in the last couple of years as our very BOLEH goment want to have a more ‘Malaysian’ feel in our road naming exercise.

Now, what is wrong with the name Jalan Alor in the first place?????

Don’t tell me Jalan Alor sounds ‘foreign’!!!!????

Why our public service agent is so EFNBTD (eat full nothing better to do) and do all these kinds ‘boh liew’ stuff and not go and better manage some other more important issues? Why don’t they go clear the rubbish that choked the drains in Jalan Alor or drains in the Klang Valley?

What makes them think that they can ’suka-suka’ change any road names when it strike their fancy?

Don’t you think our country is run by a group of clowns and Malaysia is turning into a circus now??? geeezzzeeeeee….
