When we got back from our trip early this month, the first thing that greeted us was a broken pipe! Water was gushing out in full force for God knows how many days since no one was home for almost a week! My MIL left for Germany the weekend before our return and the person whom we asked to come check the house every alternate day did not come by. PiggyBeng was pretty pissed as he was so tired from our flight but still has to fix the pipe. Don’t know how many gallons of water was wasted!
To fix the pipe, we have to turn off the main switch and we were left with no water to use. Imagine we were on the plane the entire night and don’t get to clean up upon returning home. We were so sticky all over! After fiddling for almost 3 hours, PiggyBeng finally managed to fix it and we have the water supply back. In that short span of time, the dirt from the pipe actually seeped into the water and it was all brownish in color! Yucks!
I then told PiggyBeng that we really need to consider having our water treated. I suggested that we should install something like the MWF filter to do the job.

Over the weekend while I was trying to clean up the mess in the house, I discovered I have just too much junks! PiggyBeng has been complaining that every new cabinets he bought are filled up in no time - all with my junks!
Well, collecting junks things is one of my favorite past time.
When ever I’m into something, I can’t resist buying and keeping them. It started with those cute stickers during my childhood years and it actually moved on to stamps, rare silver coins, note books, cute pencils, mugs, T-shirt, paper bags, miniature perfumes bottles, bags, soft toys, scarfs and my latest, cookie cutters and bento accessories! I must stop before they over flow!
Many of those stuff are still stashed in my parents’ store room and I have no idea when I can actually move them over. Our store room here is getting over crowded too as I have a lot of stuff like Darrius’s old clothing, toys and books taking up all available space. I tried to pack those that we hardly use and intend to give them away but each time I felt so ’sayang’ so they ended up taking up more space. I just hope PiggyBeng don’t throw them away when I am away giving birth!

One month flew by so quickly and we are back to this little island in just a few blinks of the eye. We definitely enjoyed our stay in KL… especially all the yummy dishes dished out by my mom over that 30+ days and not to mention all the makan sessions I had.
I went on to try a lot of ‘ban mian’ and ‘tai-lok mee’ when I was in KL as well as some new ‘chi-char’ as well. I always cannot get enough of KL food… in a way. Thanks to this fun loving mommy, I tried another crabbing place which is hidden from the bustle and hasles of the city though it is in the city centre! That place don’t even have any cardboard display leading to it so if you have not been there, it is tough to find your way!
Not to forget my all time favorite, the curry pork skin ‘chee cheong fun’ in Taman Yulek market. It is still the best thus far… too bad I did not get to eat that many times this round!
Now we are back to reality I guess… more self cooking though I’m so lazy after being pampaered by my mom for the entire month of August. Really have no idea what to cook… but only for 3 weeks and we are off again!
Anyway, we will be back again n October!

Some of the technology we have today is really fantastic. Especially in the last few years. They have made our life so much easier especially when we are on the road.
I still remembered last time when we are on a road trip with my family, I will have to asssist my dad with the directions. I will be armed with a map and be the navigator for the trip. Though it works all the time (given the maps are the latest edition) but there are times we have to take many wrong turns to reach our destination.
We really got to be thankful that we have gadgets like Garmin GPS where reaching the right destination with minimal wrong turns!

It is really unfair that we are paying for cable services here but getting worst than substandard quality. The other night while I was trying to purchase some items online, I was being cut off more than 20 times in that 1 hour! Imagine how frustrated I was. I hardly face such problem when I was in Penang but just could not understand why it always happens in KL? It is the same provider… so what actually going on?
Then it was raining on and off here and my poor mom will have her cable TV service being cut off whenever it rained. Sometimes in the middle of the program where she was busy jotting down some recipes. It was so frustrating for her as it happens all the time.
If we ever have to depends on these local services when we are traveling in the wild… I could not imagine what will happen if we are in trouble. Unlike in the Western countries, there are satellite radios services for such occasions.

This morning PiggyBeng messaged me telling that there is a huge surge in A(H1N1) cases in Penang until the hospital is over loaded with patients and all the isolation wards over filled. This is a very scary situation. He said there are many people who are recording high fever in the past few days… especially those in his office. Even one of his relative’s son is recording fever of 40 degree Celciusthe previous few days which is considered as a suspected case.
We are only six weeks away from our vacation and if the situation did not improve by then, we might have to postpone the trip or cancel it altogether. This is because the chances of contracting the virus is extremely high when we are in the plane since we will be ‘contained’ with only recycled air. Thus it is unwise for me to travel… but we really want to go!

Initially PiggyBeng has planned to travel to Melbourne from Perth as he needs to check out some stuff there. He has planned to camp at my cousin’s place since we will not be following. As my cousin has just moved there, she has limited furniture with her so I have intended to get him one of those sleeping bags to be used there. I have even checked out a few online and was extremely attracted to the Vango Ultralite 300 Sleeping Bag by Webtog which is very suitable for the climate in Melbourne. In fact it is the end of summer sale now in Europe and we can get save about 10%. What more, Webtog is offering free shipping across EU.
Just too bad they don’t give free shipping to Asia! If not I would have just purchase it without thinking too much!

This pregnancy I only lost a total of 3kg in the first 3 months. I slowly gained those kilos back when my morning sickness begins to fade along the 4th month. I regained my appetite when I reach my 5th month which was about 3 weeks back. Now that I am at my parents’ place, I have been eating like a pig and I dare not go on the scale since last week.
I knew I have piled up some kilos over the 2 weeks that I am in KL and since we will be here for another 2 weeks, I know I will continue to eat like there’s no tomorrow…
Mom’s cooking is too good to resist and all those feasting sessions when we eat out… will surely add on the kilos.
My mom warned me to not to add on too much weight or I will have a hard time losing them later. Though I will be breastfeed Lil’ Bun later, I will not know if I will be successful the second time round. Therefore, I will still try other methods to lose weights. Will keep some of those diet pills review that I came across which might be handy in the future.

Darrius is getting naughtier by the day. He is not afraid of me or even my mom now. He will never stop to bully his little cousin. He will bully him or disturb him at every chance he gets. Like last night, I noticed Adrian was sleepy so I told my mom to get him ready for bed. Upon hearing our conversation, Darrius asked me where is his tricycle (he hid it in the room but forgot about it)? I then told him not to ride it as Adrian needs to sleep. He then told me he wants it as he wants to sound the horn… can you guess the manace behind?
He remembered later and brought out the tricycle. He purposely ride to my parents’ room door and sounded the horn. When my mom told him to stop doing it, he will purposely knock his tricycle’s front wheel against the door. When my mom gave him a stare, he rode to the back and sounded the horn again. *sigh*
Then on another days, he will quietly climb up my mom’s kitchen sinks or the basin and play with water when no one was watching. He will splash water on the floor which could pose hazard if he or Adrian slip on it. In fact it will be dangerous for anyone who will pass by that area for that matter!

It is not easy to mind two active toddlers in a house where most of the furniture are not child friendly. Before we were married, my parents bought a set of wooden sofa which was pretty popular among their friends. My mom thought the hard wood is good for their old bones and never thought that kids will fill their house one day which could pose some dangers to them. Darrius was so used to our soft sofa in Penang that he knocked on the wooden sofa a few times when he jump on it.
My dad also brought back some old office furniture from his friend’s office to be used as storage cabinets since they were still in very good condition and these too are not so child friendly. However, they posed a hazard today with running toddlers around. Both Darrius and my nephew got many blue blacks from knocks on these furniture.
