This is a very back-dated post!
.
We celebrated Glennedine’s full moon on New Year eve in KL before we head back to Penang. We did not do it big since we do not have that many relatives in KL so it was just a small celebration.
Since it was New Year eve, most places are crowded and PiggyBeng wanted a venue where it will be convenient for us and for his uncle who lives in Sri Damansara. After checking out a few restaurants, we decided to go for Ah Yat Abalone Forum Restaurant in PJ which seems to be in the central between Cheras and Damansara. At the same time, they were having some abalone promotions so it was a deal.
We arrived around 7pm and managed to find parking at the restaurant’s underground parking. The parking was in pretty bad shape though… the ceiling looked like it gonna fall off anytime! I saw some pieces of cracked ceiling boards and thought about malignant Mesothelioma which can be deadly. Luckily we managed to find a good spot away from those cracked ceiling boards.
Then when we went up, I was surprised to find 2 other restaurants occupying the premise. There was another seafood and a Japanese restaurant. Then when we went in to Ah Yat’s we found out half the restaurant was used for a wedding function… so we were very lucky to get a table and I managed to get us a private room! Imagine those noise coming from the wedding will sure to wake Glennedine up!
And here is the STAR on that night…

Today is the day we have RED eggs and ANG-Kus as Glennedine turned 1 month! Finally mommy can ‘go free’!
How time flies!!!!!
She was a little more cranky than normal (don’t know what is the reasons) as we brought her out to the hospital to get her ears checked as well as went to collect the fullmoon packages (with nasi kunyit but before I could snap a pic, PiggyBeng had already ate a quarter of the pile…) which we had ordered for our relatives here in KL. She was awake most of the 2 hours we were out and about.
For personal record, here are her milestone…
- lift her head up and stay up right for at least 10 second unassisted
- flip over on her own on the 16th day! (my mom so shocked as she was the one who witness it)
- can turn her head left or right when place on tummy
- has been sleeping on tummy on day 7th
- feed exclusively on mama’s milk
- take in at least 2-3Oz of milk on each feed but can still continue to suckle non-stop even after she dosed off
- a LOUD screamer just like her kor-kor!
- on the way to potty training #2 (she only soiled her diaper once with poo-poo so far ever since she was back from the hospital) as she will know how to give cues to mommy when she wanna do #2
- loved to be held up right
.
After we delivered all the fullmoon packages I went to have my hair cut and treatment… feel so good now!
Tonight we will be going out for dinner to have a small celebration with my family and PiggyBeng’s relatives.
HAPPY FULLMOON Lil’ Glennedine!
And…
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010 to everyone!!!!!

Since Glennedine came unannounced in the middle of the night, there were some plans we had earlier which has to be shelved. As PiggyBeng did not get to arrive on time and Darrius went to the hospital with me, I can’t do a lot of stuff which I had planned together with PiggyBeng. So, we have to twist some of them around. One of the plans was to introduce the brother to the sister with a gift exchange.
On our previous trip KL, I asked Darrius what he would like his Mei-mei to give him when they met? As he is ‘infactuated’ with anything that has wheels on, he told me he wanted a trolley bag just like one of those his classmates has. Coincidentally, PiggyBeng was on a biz trip to Brazil so I took the opportunity to ask him to scout for one since he gets to transit in Singapore, Hong Kong, Chicago and Tokyo. Luckily PiggyBeng managed to find the ‘perfect’ gift in one of the duty free shops that sell many promotional products in Changi Airport on his flight home.

Glennedine was supposed to come on the 16th of December but she was two weeks early… which mean she was born on Week 38th. Initially we thought of inducing her on 12th of December if she did not come earlier but her sudden arrival on the 2nd of December put a rest to all our plans. I was still thinking I still have some time to feast on more food (thought I could increase her weight more) but my last meal was down the drain after delivery!

30th November
I went for my appointment to my obgyn and was told that baby’s head has turned but still not engaged. I was too preoccupied with checking her position that I forgot to ask him to check if I am already dilated (my biggest mistake) so I thought I can still carry her till week 39th or week 40th.

Today I turned 4! Mommy said I’m a big boy now but I am still not ‘big-big’ boy yet as I still can’t use the scissors. Mommy said only when I turned 5 next year then I’ll be allowed to use scissors.
For my 4th birthday, mommy baked me a cake filled with carrots. Mommy was extremely happy because I did not ask for Thomas cake this year. Though I like Tom & Jerry now but I did not want to have that for my birthday cake. Mommy was happy about that too. I knew mommy is very tired carrying mei-mei so I do not want to burden her with tough requests. And I am very happy to eat all the sweet ‘carrots’!
This time I celebrated my birthday in 3 places within a day. First, we were in Penang and I got this from daddy….

Darrius’s actual birthday falls on 21st of November but we decided to give him a small celebration in his kindy a few days earlier as we need to travel back to KL on his actual birthday. Initially we thought of having the celebration tomorrow (Friday) but it is the kindy’s Children’s Day so I picked to do it yesterday (Wednesday) instead.
This year, the birthday boy made a special request for his birthday cake and this heavily preggy mama at 36 weeks gestation has to oblige to the request. The request is quite unusual but big and frumpy mama was extremely glad that it is not another Thomas the Tank cake!!!
It definitely helped lessen the energy and effort as I am having problem standing for too long! In fact, I got a bad leg cramp on the night I completed the cakes!
So, this is the birthday boy’s cake for his 4th birthday…

Yesterday was pretty warm after the afternoon rain so PiggyBeng decided to switch on the a/c in the living room and watch some movies. Before he closed the door between the living room and the dining room, he went to light up the burner and heat up the soup in the pressure cooker. He apparently put on ‘high’ heat as he thought he wanted to let it boil faster.
He then walked into the living room and lie down on the sofa watching the movie with us. He did not tell me he was heating up the soup. The volume from our home theater system was pretty loud so we can’t hear anything except the sound from the movie.
After almost an hour (I think) or at least 45 minutes, I smelt burnt smell coming to the living room. I turned to PiggyBeng who was almost half asleep lying down on the sofa if he was cooking something? He jumped up! And I was like…. OH NO!!!!!!
We ran to the kitchen and there were smoke filling part of the room! The pressure cooker were emitting black smoke! PiggyBeng quickly switch off the burner and release the pressure cooker’s valve and let all the pressure out’ The entire house smelt of burning smell which really yucky… given my current condition when my nose is extra sensitive.
First thing PiggyBeng said was ‘Die! The rubber is gone!’ referring to the rubber on the pressure cooker’s cover. I don’t know what he did after that as he told me to leave and not to inhale the smoke which might be toxic. While I was opening up all the windows, our neighbour came over to ask methere was something burning so I told her what happened.
PiggyBeng spent almost an hour cleaning the pressure cooker from burnt corn on the cobs and peanuts. It was corn soup we had that day. Everything almost turn into charcoal remains except a few corn on the cobs. I did not get to snap a pic… which I should to remind PiggyBeng of his carelessness!!!!!
It was only a few days ago I was talking about PiggyBeng boiling soup and we have this accident. I was glad the pressure cooker did not explode though we have heard of many of such stories. The pressure cooker did not have any damage except a blacken bottom inside and a burnt valve cap from the smoke/steam. I must say kudos to Tefal for creating such a good pot with admirable technology.
One thing after this incident, I am having qualm’s with PiggyBeng’s kitchen attitude! Obviously he’s getting old!!! I told him I will either get him a timer to hang around his neck or tie one of those cardboard displays around his neck so he would not forget he’s cooking something!

Nothing Special!
I was tossing on the bed the whole night and falling in and out of sleep though I was super tired. Don’t know why…. Then PiggyBeng’s alarmed rang. And we do what normal couples do… *wink* and he went off to get ready for work while I continued to get some sleep. Darrius came and bug me a couples of time and I have to shooed him back to his mattress.
Obviously I woke up late…
Then realised the PC has errors… so have to call PiggyBeng to sort out… and after I got it running again I plopped myself in front of the box the entire morning until lunch time. Ok, got to eat something since I skipped breakfast. I was lazy to cook but I still have a monster to feed so I cooked some noodles and made this Bento for Darrius…

Working hard to catch up on all those back dated posts!
3.2.2009
It was the Heavenly God’s festival that day so we did not sleep till the wee hours of the morning as there were a series of firework display in our area the night before starting from 11.30pm till almost 2am! PiggyBeng was capturing all the fireworks with Darrius next to him enjoying himself while this mommy was in the kitchen rushing the cupcakes out intended to be given to a few mommies whom we will be meeting.
We started our journey around 9.30am and traffic was smooth. Stopped by Ipoh to have my bowl of noodle while PiggyBeng sip on his favorite Ipoh White Coffee at his favorite coffee shop…
