I wanted to clear all the balance sausages I had in the freezer so I decided to make some mini pizzas as snack for Darrius and myself. I got the idea from Amy after reading one of her post. I did read from another baking blog using a flower cutter but I was too lazy to dig out my cutters so I used Amy’s style instead.

They turned out quite nice and yummy too though I did not spread any pizza sauce. I only squeezed some fat free mayonnaise and sprinkled with mozzarella cheese on top of a mix of chicken sausage, filament stick and mixed vege.

Actually I don’t really have much time to create Bento the past few days as I was packed with cupcake orders since last week. I will get really exhausted every time I’m done with them so I will go to bed pretty early. In fact we have been buying a lot of take-aways these two weeks.

This was the only Bento I did on Sunday when we had BBQ pork ribs for lunch and instant noodles for dinner… I kept some extra vege so I could do this Bento for Darrius which I did in a jiffy….

.

.

Using broccoli as Christmas tree and some silver balls as bauble with a small carrot star. Below the broccoli are some cauliflowers acting as snow. There’s a Santa Clause hiding next to the Christmas tree which was made using filament sticks and nori for eyes and mouth. Added some chicken cocktails on the side to fill up the empty space… hehehe There are some snow flakes too which were also made of filament stick sitting on a bed of dried soy sauce noodles mixed with some furikake.

.

.
The above Madagascar Bento box was a Birthday gift to Darrius from this sexy mommy…

.

Wishing everyone who visits here a Blessed Christmas~*

Can’t remember which day I did this Bento but it has to be the previous week as I do not take in any cupcake orders due to the wedding. Therefore, I have a little time to do a more ‘hardworking’ Bento.

This is the first time I tried decorating a piece of red apple. I must say I spent quite a bit of time digging the skin out! It was fun and to do it nicely, it takes skills! I was trying to hide away in the kitchen coz if PiggyBeng sees me doing such ‘unproductive’ thing I will sure get a good scolding from him! hahahaha

Besides the piece of apple, the rest was quite normal stuff that Darrius likes. This time I made him the new pasta that PiggyBeng bought from Singapore. Yeah, it was the transport pasta! Darrius adores them as it has his favs, the trains and planes! This time I only add some ham and mixed them with some fat free mayo. Taste good wor!

.

.

I added two filament sticks on skewers, some mix vegs, blanched broccoli and cherry tomatoes.

Hope you have fun Bento-ing away too!

I have been having a lot of last minute cupcake orders this month so it basically took up all my time till I don’t even have much time to write. Most of them are custom designs so I got to break my brain to come out with all those fun designs for my customers. I am just glad most turned out well… after toiling in the kitchen the entire day for each project (I still have to cook and mind my lil’ monster!).

Can’t remember which day I did this Bento but it has to be a Friday since we usually pack chicken rice from our relative’s stall when PiggyBeng on his way home from office as I normally don’t cook on a Friday since we dine out every Friday evening.

Here is an idea for a lazy Bento… as Christene always put it…

Blanched broccoli with carrot stars, pear cubes in skewers, chicken rice with cherry tomatoes

.

I think the presentation make the chicken rice looked more anticing as compared to when it arrived in the foam lunch box….

Shame-shame, this post was supposed to be up like 2 weeks ago!

I made some simple fried rice and thought I’ll just do some decor for Darrius’s portion since I bought some chicken ham when were went to Jusco earlier. can’t remember what is the name of the ham since I have already repacked them in the freezer.

.

.

There were some left over teriyaki chicken from the earlier meal so I added them in too for the extra protein. I used the chicken ham as the face of bear with egg omelet as the eye white and ears, green peas as the eye balls, red capsicum as the mouth, carrot and sweet pea as the bow tie and additional of broccoli and cherry tomatoes for added colors.

.

.

I boiled some purple sweet potatoes dessert with sago to go with the fried rice. Darrius loves them… simply because it is sweet!

My MIL bought some plums which I have intended to give Darrius too but I forgot all about them when I took the Bento’s photo! It is always like that… I will have some extra desserts for him but I always forgot to include them in the picture and will only remember when he was half way eating! Probably I will remember better if I have some plum trees growing in my garden!

I think I have to go on blog diarrhea now or else I won’t be able to catch up on all the back dated posts! First, I was loaded with cupcake orders then this sexy mommy came with her troop and then we have a wedding weekend at a relative’s place. So much to blog about but so little time since both Darrius and myself were down with food poisoning the entire weekend!

Believe me or not, this Bento was done the previous week! Not that I don’t have time to go online but I was too caught up with FB at the moment! Found some of my ex-classmates and has been spending some time catching up with some of them. Then I have Darrius who kept ‘kacau-ing’ me (if I go to the kitchen, he will keep asking what I’m doing upteen times though I switched on his CDs for him) or if I’m in front of the PC he will try to punch the keyboard! *slap head*

I bought some chicken breast meat so decided to do some teriyaki chicken for him. Then came the idea of using the long picks so he can have some ’satay’ again.

.

Bento Box: Half star-shaped hard-boiled egg (which don’t turned out), teddybear pasta mixed with low fat mayonnaise and Furikake, 2 sticks of teriyaki chicken, mixed vegetables and chicken sausages and 2 cherry tomatoes

Dessert is a cup of homemade mixed berries yogurt sprinkled with some dried blueberries

.

I bought the homemade yogurt from Jusco some weeks back. They were among some of the promotional products on sale that week. It was really easy to make. All you have to do is add 200ml of cold milk and mix with the package and voila!

Though it is a tad too sweet but the taste is refreshing as compared to the normal yogurt we have here. What I like about this is the storage can be longer than those ready made ones from the supermarkets.

You can keep a few boxes in the pantry and make them as and when the need arises so it quite convenient.

As we wanted to go and collect our passports, PiggyBeng told me not to cook that day so I brought Darrius to QBM. Since we are not having lunch with PiggyBeng, I can’t decide what to have for lunch when we are there so I thought I’ll just prepare a Bento for Darrius and packed in a few extra items in case he gets hungry after lunch time… knowing I will spend a few hours there.

I was determined to come out with something unusual for Darrius’s Bento last week when I have a few items on my hands.

.

Left: Wholemeal soft bartard filled with cheese and turkey ham, Mini Oreo for ears, cheese for eyes white with nori as eye balls and carrot as mouth with whole strawberries
Right: Blueberries mini cupcakes with mix of prunes, dried apricots and dried blueberries

.

This Keroppi Bento box which I got from this mommy came with 2 tiers and the bottom tier is quite deep so can fit those sandwiches.

.

Darrius was excited to see such Bento but he only keen to eat those Mini Oreo and cheese but not so much the sandwiches!! He cleaned up all the fruits as well as the mini cupcakes.

At the end, mommy has to clear the half bitten sandwiches….

I was a little hard working last week with my Bento as I can spend more time doing them since I don’t have any cupcake orders that few days. This was last Tuesday Bento which Darrius had for dinner.

Made him his favorite star-shaped onigiri again (the eyes and mouths were actually seaweed cutout with my mini face cutters) with some fried snake beans with anchovies and steamed herbal chicken. Added some strawberries for his vitamin intake. He started to like strawberries now especially those sweet ones but will spit out if they are sour!

.

.

He cleared all the strawberries first before he ate the chicken and most of the anchovies but left some snake beans and rice behind. This was quite a heavy Bento for him with 3 rice balls…

Looks like those strawberries from Cameron Highland is getting slightly better than years ago but still can’t beat those from US and Australia… in terms of size and sweetness.

.

I gave him some stir-fried red and green capsicum in black pepper chicken, 2 heart shaped onigiri (not sticky enough) with some steamed fish on the side (left), some cut strawberries and a bunny apple and sprinkled with some steamed corns from McD! (yeah, we went to McD again… for a reason)

He was happy to see the heart shaped rice but he took out all the capsicum pieces from the box! Last time he likes to eat all his capsicums but lately he started to pick on his vege! Headache!
