Some pillows and bolsters talk
Every night without fail, we will start some pillows and bolsters talk with Darrius when all of us are in the room in preparing for the baby’s arrival. After the first few nights talking about who sleeps where, now we asked about sharing of other ‘beloved’ items.
I have blogged about Darrius and his blue bolsters here and here which is one of his ‘beloved’ items when he goes to sleep. Though he can sleep without them when he is out an about during the day but he will look for them at night. More like a ‘bao-bei’ to him.
Last night we started the talk…

Me: Darrius, when baby comes out, can share these bolsters with baby or not? (pointing to his beloved blue bolsters)
Darrius: *shook head* Cannot!
Me: Why??? You have two mah, let baby have one.
Darrius: *shook head* These are Darrius’s one.
Me: Then can baby have your big bolster? (the other bolster which he took from me)
Darrius: Cannot!
Me: Then which bolster is for baby?
Darrius: This one (pointing to a medium one which he don’t really like) is for baby.
Me: Why this one leh?
Darrius: This one is for baby. I don’t like this one.
Me: o_O
.
This boy ah… very protective over his stuff…
Later I want to tease him about his toys… see what he will say… hehehehe *evil grin*

maybe u need to start training Darrius on changing diaper, passing cream or lotion…train him to be your assistance taking of baby, heehee

you just have to keep “poisoning” darrius about sharing, and mummy will have less time with him….
in fact, before shan rae was born, we always talk to shan leo about his lil’ brother. initially, the 1st one month after shan rae was born, he was ok. later on, we discovered that he will do a lot of annoying things for attention, and keep comparing with his lil’ brother. he will say things like “how come shan rae dont need to sleep, and i have to go to sleep now”, etc etc
honestly, with the 2nd baby around, it is difficult to give balance attention….n most of the time, mummy will pay more attention to the younger one – which the older kid will never understand no matter how much you explain or try to compensate! *sigh*

hopefully it’s a mei-mei so that there won’t be 2 boys fighting over the same toys….fights betw boys can be very stress no joke!! ooopss not wanting to scare u lar…. good that u r preparing him early!!
at least he is willing to give out one… En En still very possessive over all her stuff… didi cannot take anyone from her unless we sweet talk to her and she only can borrow nia…
