Well, more like a beauty products freak!

The last 3 months I have been on a shopping spree actually… and they are not stuff for Darrius… for once! Elina was telling me that I should pamper myself with all the hard earn money writing reviews so I should splurge a little on myself.

And I did!

Recently, the US dollar seems to have improved a lot and I did a few withdrawals and I must say I got a good exchange. With some spare cash on hand, I went and ‘kaypoh-ed’  at one of the local beauty saloon in Queensbay Mall after speaking to a friend who works with the company in Singapore. She sort of ‘talked’ me into trying the products by giving me a free ‘face-mapping’ exercise.

Since I do not use any particular beauty products, I thought… well, no harm trying.  So, I went into the shop and did another face mapping session. After which I bought a travel set of some of the items to try out.

So far the products seems to be ok on my skin so I have been using them regularly but I don’t buy from the shop directly. I purchased them from an online store which are so much cheaper… Well, I did not tell the saloon lady that I purchased some of the products else where!

Next week, I will be going for a so-called FREE facial after my first purchase months ago. Not sure if they are good or not but I knew most of their beauticians are not trained in those cosmetology schools in indiana for sure.

Ok, there are an influx of posts today as I discovered some additional paid posts offered to me. I am trying to finish them up as some have very limited time frame for me to work on. However, I would say this is something positive though each post is not much but the freedom to write anything makes life easier.

I have been writing since late last nite till early this morning and am continuing where I left off. There are some fillers required and that was why you are seeing some really silly posts!

Not sure if any of you heard about this ‘cost play’ thing before but I have been reading quite a bit about it from some tabloid papers in the last few years. Initially I have no idea what it was until I read about them and then saw some Taiwanese programs which talked about such events are catching up in Asia especially in Taiwan and Japan.

However, I can’t be sure if young kids (mostly teenagers) dressing up in all those funny costumes is a good thing and since it is not like a Halloween event which is purely for fun once a year. I even saw some boys in school girl costumes which really blew my head off!

I just hope such trend won’t be successful here or we will start seeing funny people dressed up in funny cloths walking on the streets!

I am glad that we are having more rain now after having hot weather for months! At least I don’t have to water the plant (yeah, due to the plants high mortality rate, PiggyBeng decided to shift all our potted plants to the back of the house) and let our car layered with thick layer of dust. Though our car is silver in color and considered as best camouflage for dirt or dust, I can still see those thick layers of dust every two days!

We do not have a water host outside our house so I only depend on the rain water to wash our car. We only go to the auto car wash once in a while or when PiggyBeng is in the mood.

Just before I forget, I want to jot this funny thing down.

Of late, Darrius loves to do things we do or more precise, like what PiggyBeng is doing! Every time I asked him why he do certain things he will reply ‘like daddy liddat’. I guess Darrius understood that he looks more like daddy than mommy… physically

Scene 1

Darrius was playing with his masak set, using the skillet to fry ‘egg’

Mommy: What are you doing

Darrius: Fry egg for mommy

Mommy: Why you shake the frying pan?

Darrius: Like daddy liddat mah! (continue to flip the egg)

Mommy:

Scene 2

Brought Darrius to the bathroom to pee and he shoot, stop, shoot and stop!

Mommy: Boy! Why you pee like that???

Darrius: Like daddy liddat mah!

Mommy: *speechless*

What are the best experiences as Mommy to Darrius…

Darrius has been my source of inspiration as I wanted nothing but the best for him. For his sake, I successfully breastfeed him for 18 months. For him I took up driving again. For him I sacrifice my beauty sleep and Korean dramas so I could write reviews and sell cupcakes in order to get extra $$ to splurge on him. For him I have every reason to go to sale. For him, I started packing bento. For his sake I started this blog!

With that I got to know all of you, the beautiful people out there!

Ok, I wished to tag some mommies but looking at the award again, I think all of those mommies who come by here should consider themselves as Best Mommy too! So, please pick this award if you feel you are one of these ‘Best Mommies’!

I was chatting with my mother in law one day talking about where to keep her money since she no longer trust the ‘bank that never sleep’. She withdrew all her fixed deposit from that bank and was wondering if she should use those monies to buy foreign notes and keep in the safe deposit box or invest in gold… In fact she used to do the latter last time.

Then I told her that when time is bad, most people will invest in gold or buying gold bars to keep since the value of gold has been appreciating and its value seldom fluctuate. Guess what she says? She asked ‘What if some jokers go rob the bank and take out all those safe deposit boxes?’ eerrr….

Well, it is nothing new. Cases like this is pretty common these days. The last case I heard of was one of the branch in Hong Kong which belong to one of the biggest banks in Singapore.

If no where is safe… why don’t we use all the monies and buy those Discount Jewelry to wear before we die? If we could not own something forever, it is good enough to have at least owned it before mah!

Every year PiggyBeng will travels to Brazil at least 2 times but he has not been going since his last trip early last year. In fact it has almost been a year now. Though he said there might be a trip in April but very unlikely it will materialize since the economy is hitting rock bottom.

The fondant which I have been using for my cupcakes was bought by PiggyBeng when he went on transits in Chicago every time he flies to Brazil. They are running out soon so probably I will either have to spend more money to get it locally or go bug some friends to get for me in the States.

Actually, there is good and bad that PiggyBeng don’t have to travel so often now so he can spend more time at home with us, especially with Darrius.  Also, I don’t have to worry about his safety when he is abroad. At least now I don’t have to keep reminding him to keep at least one contact of the Chicago injury lawyer. It is a good practice to keep some important numbers when we are traveling.

The post on my birthday will have to wait as I am currently swamped with work… online and offline! I have quite a few datelines to meet and the problems cropped up in my cupcakes blog has been taking a lot of my time to fix but still it has not been fixed though I spent the entire morning trying to figure out!!!! I just hope something magical will happen and the blog goes back to it normal self.

Went out to QBM to meet a customer and had lunch. The place as usual, was extremely quiet though it is lunch time. The only place that was filled with people are McD, Kopi Tiam and Kim Gary… the rest of other food outlets are practically swatting flies!

Came back and cook. After dinner, I decided to reorganize the content of the new cabinet which PiggyBeng has just bought. He just stuffed all the things (most are food stuff) inside last night after he fixed it up so I have to move them out again and place them accordingly.

Before I was done with that, PigyBeng reminded me that I still have another to clear up. I need to take out some of those outdoor clothing which Darrius has outgrown and keep them in a box. Hopefully he will have a little brother to pass on to if not I will have to give them away since most are still in very new condition.

I really dreaded these sessions as I tend to hold on to things which I or we don’t need but since they are still new or still in good condition I felt really ’sayang’ to give or throw them away. PiggyBeng has been calling me ‘karang-guni woman’!!!
