Bento Fun #39
Finally the new Bento box I purchased from Chooi Peng arrived. At least now I have more Bento boxes to use with different colors and shapes too. This was the Bento I did for Darrius’s dinner on Thursday.
Left with the last few quail eggs, I decided to use them to top off my very uninteresting dinner…
We had vegetable combo… yeah one of those everything in one pot kinda dish.
.
Boiled quail eggs sitting on a bed stir fried pork strips on white rice decorated with stir fried broccoli, carrot flowers, snow peas and nori flakes
.
This car shaped box is slightly bigger than the Pooh Bear box that I have so can put in more items but I need some time to think of the ingredients to put in that can make it look more interesting.
Well, hope this Bento give you some ideas… and happy Bento-ing folks!

Very pretty. Took lots of time designing and assembling it, I’m sure. Very fun too, appealing to the eyes and makes the idea of food/meals more exciting to the kid too.
How often do you do this, I wonder.
What happens if a kid (not specifically referring to Darrius, but generally speaking) becomes so accustomed to meals served this way, that they reject food not served bento- pretty style? Eg: when mom is unwell or haven’t the time to prep this for eating out?
i like the very nice decorated eggs!

yeah, i like the quail egg too!!
You always serve interesting and pretty bento for Darrius. I can see that you use a lot of veges like broccolis and carrots in your bento – does Darrius finish all those? Isn’t the rice a bit dry with just veges and stir fry pork strips in it without any sauce or soup?
i still haven’t gotten around buying sesame seeds yet. (for the eyes, I mean)
this is a really cute bento !! the little chickies are absolutely adorable in their little backyard.
