X-Files and a Nondos lunch

3.8.08 – Another back dated post again…

The Sunday before we left for Lion City, I won got two tickets from a contest organized by my web hosting company to watch X-Files-The Final Chapter at Golden Screen Cinema, Queensbay Mall. This is their 3rd private movie screening and this is our second time attending! The first time was The Bee Movie last year.

Well, X-Files is not for small kids for sure! Since we do not have anyone to help babysit Darrius, we have to bring him along of course. And I knew he will enjoy the popcorns and cola though not the movie.

This year we were not as kiasu (afraid to lose) as last year. We only went around 12 noon and went to have our lunch before going up to redeem our tickets. Out of the blue I felt like trying Nandos. I’ve seen Nandos in KL and Perth but have never thought of trying them until that day! So, this is our very first Nandos experience….

I ordered their their quarter Peri-peri Chicken set and PiggyBeng had their Espetada set. Both set came with 2 side dish. I had the rice and hot fries while PiggyBeng ordered their normal fries with vegetable salad.

Verdict – I love the spiciness… There are a few bottles of sauces on the table and if the chicken is not ‘hot’ enough, we can always add ‘hotness’ by pouring more hot sauce.

We finished our lunch around 1pm and went up to collect the tickets. I was surprised to see there were no Q at all unlike the previous time. Probably with the new parking tariff, people don’t go that early these days?

This time the popcorns and colas were placed at our seats so we don’t have to collect from the counter which we’ll probably finished munching before the movie starts! And the person who had the most fun before the movie starts – Darrius of course!

While there were some preview of other movies being played (quite violent types) before the actual show starts, Darrius was scared and cried and wanted to go home!!!! We tried to pacify him and after the show started, he calmed down. Since it was his nap time (around 3+pm) he finally dozed off on PiggyBeng laps. He slept through the entire movie… good for us!

The movie was so-so only… just like the ordinary TV episodes… so nothing to shout about.
