Sunshine Bay Seafood @ Tanjung Bungah

Another very back dated post…

During my brother’s visit to Penang in late May, we went for dinner after Darrius had a fun time at the pool and kids’ room at Evergreen Laurel. This is the place which I have wanted to blog about but each time we go there, we forgot to bring our camera along. This time, armed with our new camera, we managed to snap some of the dishes.

Clockwise from top left: Crayfish noodles,  Prawns Tom Yum in Coconut, Steamed Grouper Teow Chew Style and Guinness Stout Chicken

.

One of their signature dishes is the Prawns Tom Yum in Coconut… which is very spicy but yummy as it is very rich with spices. They used coconut juice for the soup so it taste very sweet even with all the chilies. I’ve tried cooking something similar (the soup) and you can find the  recipe here.

This time we ordered 2 new dishes (the crayfish noodles and steamed fish). The Crayfish noodles was a huge letdown and the steamed fish is a little too expensive. The Guinness Chicken was not as tasty as the previous time we had.

For those of you who would like to try, the name of the restaurant is Sunshine Seafood along Tanjung Bungah (on your right when you go towards Batu Feringghi). Next to it is a very big Nasi Kandar shop (forgot the name) so you won’t miss.

You can try their Claypot Beehoon Crabs. It tasted quite good the last time we tried. :)
