Say Bye-bye to chapped fingers

Published by Angeleyes under Product Review

Since I’m a stay home mommy, I tend to do a lot of housework and washing is part of my daily ritual. Besides that, I run my little cupcakes business which requires me to do a lot of figurine modeling using my finger tips. To keep myself hygienic, I will wash my hands every time I handle these sugar pastes so there will be no dirt sticking to them.

All these washing ultimately cost the outer layer of my skin around my fingers to crack. When that happens, I will be in pain every time I wash my hands with soap as the chemicals in the soap will irritate my torn skin. I will apply some hand cream but I can’t apply them if I have to continue modeling the sugar paste as they might be toxic.

I was all excited when I get a chance to do a review on Glove In A Bottle. Though this is no magic lotion but it has helped my chapped fingers to heal faster than before and kept them moisturized. Gloves In A Bottle actually forms a web which bond with the dead skin cells that works like an invisible pair of gloves. Gloves In A Bottle helps the outer layer of skin to lock in its natural oils which moisturized and protect the deeper layers of skin, leaving the skin soft and supple.

The best thing about Gloves In A Bottle is, it is non greasy (dries off quickly), fragrance free and non toxic which is completely safe. Therefore, I can wash my hands and apply it and continue with my work without having to worry if any residue will intoxicate my edible sugar paste.

From the images aboves, you can see the after effects with just a few applications. The cracks/chapped skin (around my thumb) are gone and my fingers are soft and smooth again.

If you are working or washing a lot with your hands like myself and your skin dries up often which resulting in chapped skin, you should consider giving Gloves In A Bottle a try and see the difference yourself. In fact many top dermatologists recommended Gloves In A Bottle as an effective dry skin treatment.

I have even started applying on my soles and so far they are healing faster than I thought.

Gloves In A Bottle is available world wide with agents in many countries and they are available for wholesale.

I would like to thank Gloves In A Bottle and BDMM for giving me the opportunity to review this fantastic product.

I was craving for Delifrance sandwiches…

Published by Angeleyes under sLurP!, @ Moo's Kitchen

and the nearest Delifrance is located in Tanjong Bungah… so how?

Well, while we are still in QueensBay Mall, I grabbed some croissants from the La Boheme bakery at the basement which cost only RM0.99 each. I still have a few cans of tuna and some lettuce at home… so I don’t need to get any.

Once reaching home, in less than a few minutes… I managed to satisfy my crave…

croissant.JPG

.

For less than RM10, I can have 4 of the above croissant sandwiches with tuna filling. And if I want to get one from Delifrance, I must prepared to pay at least RM10 for each!

So, if you want to start keeping your expenses in the black… it has to be DIY!

Should I….

… get a new printer?

Ok, this question has been bugging me ever since our very old printer decided not to deliver the black ink a few months ago. PiggyBeng has checked the the model’s spec and found that our printer has reached it limit in printing with black ink… I don’t even know that until now! So, the poor printer can only print with the color inks so everything that comes out is either blue, red or yellow.

I have been contemplating of getting a new printer but PiggyBeng just won’t allow me to! Even if I am paying for it! He said I hardly use it and if it is under utilize, the Printer Ink will dries up or harden and ultimately jam the printer’s nozzle. So, how now?

During my last trip to the nearby hypermarket, I spotted a printer that is so affordable and I really felt like getting it. If PiggyBeng want to scold me… let it be or else I will have to hand write most of the message cards which I normally stick on my cupcakes. The offer will last till next Thursday and if I don’t get it by then probably I will not be able to find such a good bargain in the next few months…

*beep* *beep* *chik-jiak*

Published by Angeleyes under Juz Darrius

I think the best thing about growing up with kids is when they are able to imitate what we are doing and incorporate them in their play. I really enjoy this phase though there are still some that annoys me big time!

Remember that our old digital camera has gone R.I.P? Well, I think he did not get to really rest in peace! It has joined the many toys in Darrius’s toy box in our room. And now, besides the blocks, this camera has been one of his favorite toy!

Here is a typical scene every time he plays with the camera…

.

Darrius: Mommy-mommy… Darrius take photo ah?

Me: Ok!

Darrius: Darrius put the camera here ah? (he puts the camera in a distance and will come sit next to me)

Me: (why he sits next to me when he told me he wants to take my photo?)

Darrius: Mommy… smile ah…*beep* *beep* *chik-jiak* OK!

Me: Oh! (can’t help laughing out loud!)

He imitate his daddy, using the timer while the camera will snap the photo when he sit next to me so he can be in the photo too!

So cute right????!!!

Hate those little zits popping up?

Published by Angeleyes under Kerja Sampingan, PJT-A

I know how stressful it can get when out of the blue your face is covered with those little zits. Sometimes it came so sudden and some can get really nasty… I’ve seen some of my friends who were so desperate trying to get rid of them. They will try their best to find the best acne treatment to clear their faces.

Luckily these nasty little bumps did not visit my face if not I will sure scream in horror! Therefore, I have been eating right religiously so that I have a balance PH on my skin. I do get small ones popping up once in a while when I have PMS but they will soon subside after my period… phew~

If you are suffering from nasty breakouts, maybe you can check GetAcneTreatments.com to see if they can help you clear your blues…

Published by Angeleyes under Kerja Sampingan, PJT-A

I’ve been trying to lose some pounds lately (seems like I am always trying to lose some but I put back more most of the time!) as I wanted to save more tummy space to chomp up those yummy food in Singapore. Now, I will eat more salad and try to cut down carbohydrates in my meals… it is not easy but I’m trying.

Thought we have an old set of weight equipment left by my SIL, I did not bother to open it up to use simply because I’m lazy! So, what I do now is to use heavy books and some items around the house that has some weight to be part of my exercise equipments. At least it is free! heehehee

A Bookworm’s Tag!

Published by Angeleyes under Memes

Finally this mama in Xiamen is back in doing some memes.  This time, she is tagging through her book reviews blog and of course the meme is none other than about books!

Honestly, I have not been reading much lately except on some recipes and cake decorating books and magazines. However, I will try to revive my memory on what I have read in the past…

Do you remember how you developed a love for reading?
Eerrr…. no! I started to read (aside from text books) when I was around 9 or 10 when I was introduced to the school library. I was very excited to get my own library card where I can borrow 2 or 3 books each time. I think I started with those short stories. I was a librarian for 2 years.

What are some books you read as a child?

Enid Blyton and some local publications (in Malay). Then I have this Christian teacher who is in charged of the library and she introduced me to some Bible stories… that was when I really hooked! I have to fight with my friends so I can get to read them first! During my pre-teen years, I read a lot of Sweet Dreams, teenage romance series where I can finish 1-2 books a day!

What is your favourite genre?

I don’t really have any preferences and it changes over the years. When I was younger I will go for those fiction stuff, romance or whatever that strike my fancy during a particular period.

Do you have a favourite novel?
Kaleidoscope and Remembrance by Danielle Steel. I have always like Danielle Steels books. My other favorite is Jackie Collins (Lady Boss), Virginia Andrews (Flowers in the Attic), Jeffrey Archer (Kane and Abel) and Johanna Lindsey (Captive Bride). In fact I re-read some of them last time.

Where do you usually read?
On the bed or the couch. Sometimes when I know I’ll be in the toilet for longer period, I will grab a mag with me… :P

When do you usually read?
When I get a good book, I read it where ever I am! As long as I have the time regardless of where or when! However, with Darrius now… I hardly have time to chill with a book!

Do you usually have more than one book you are reading at a time?
Not really unless magazines as I don’t like to confused myself with the characters.

Do you read nonfiction in a different way or place than you read fiction?
Nope. Any comfortable place will do

Do you buy most of the books you read, or borrow them, or check them out of the library?
Sometimes I will buy if the price is right especially if I found them in 2nd hand book stores. When I was in Singapore, I will borrow them as the library facilities in Singapore’s is one of the best!

Do you keep most of the books you buy? If not, what do you do with them?
I kept them but my mom threw them away when I’m not around… :(

If you have children, what are some of the favorite books you have shared with them? Were they some of the same ones you read as a child?
Darrius is still on ABC so I will look forward to the day where I can talk to him about books and authors.

What are you reading now?
I don’t have time to read any of those fiction books now. I spent a lot of money and time in cake decorating books now since I run a cake shoppe… :P

Do you keep a TBR (to be read) list?
Not really… more like a list of books (cake decorating) I should get!

What’s next?
I’m eying some sugar paste modelling books by Maisie Parrish which I am still contemplating to get. I bought two of her books so far, one with me now and one on the way…

What books would you like to reread?
Actually I prefer if I can get the TV series instead of reading now. I managed to catch some of Danielle Steel’s novels made into TV series which is very addictive!

Who are your favourite authors?
Danielle Steel and I can’t remember some of the other authors’ names.

.

Now, time to tag some bookworms…

  1. Binky  (so glad you’re back in the blog sphere!)
  2. Miche
  3. Stephanie
  4. Sting
  5. Yvonne
  6. Grace

Can’t wait to see what sort of books you ladies read!

Update: Darrius’s little corner

Published by Angeleyes under Milestone, Juz Darrius

It has been more than a week we let Darrius sleeps in his little corner. PiggyBeng even went ahead to get Darrius a full size mattress last Friday while I was at the saloon getting my hair done. Well, I wasn’t too happy as he did not get my opinions before puchasing! :|

Anyway, lets get back to the subject.

Darrius was extremely happy and excited that he got a new mattress. He has been sleeping on it and he did not need us to coax him to do so. However, after I switched the light off, he will tend to want to come up to our bed. Then I will disturb him saying “you sleep on mommy’s bed and mommy sleep on your mattress ok?” and he will quickly crawl back to his mattress. So, this has been the trick we are using to get him to go back to his mattress.

I was proud to say that out of the entire week, there were only 2 occasions where he crawled up to my bed after PiggyBeng’s alarm went off. The rest, he has been sleeping there all by himself! :) Occasionally he will call out to me to make sure I’m around even in the middle of the night. He will snuggle very close to my side of the bed just to make sure I’m there.

And all these while I still thought it will be very difficult for us to move him on to his own bed since he is so attached to me. Hopefully when the time comes for us to move him to his own room will be as smooth as this too!

.

“Darrius, mommy is so proud of you!” :)
