Welcome to my hut….
A day before Father’s Day, we went to Mid Valley for dinner and shopping after dropping off my first cupcakes order for KL. Initially I wanted to eat in Gardens but my parents were not so keen so we walked over to Mid Valley (we parked in Gardens). After debating for a while, we decided to go Madam Kwan.
Upon arrival, guess what happened? Aiyer… that Toys R Us is next to Madam Kwan and they put a lot of play houses outside the shop. What else again? Darrius wanted to run over and refused to go into the restaurant! I told him NO and he just lie down on the floor and started screaming! What is new right? The two waiters outside the restaurant gave us that ‘weird’ look and I could hear them murmuring to each other ‘what a terrible spoilt kid!’.
So, my parents have to followed that devil and let him play while I went in to make order. We have to quickly finish as Darrius refused to sit longer and insisted he wanted to play in those houses. My mom was kind enough to look after him so I could go in and get him this and was hoping he won’t come and ‘kacau’ (bug) me at home while playing it…

The size can only comfortably fit one toddler. Can’t really stand inside so Darrius has to play by sitting down. If there is one more kiddo inside it will be a little crowded unless both are small size toddlers.
One of the thing I noticed was, the material of this hut is made of a kind of canvas and there aren’t any tiny holes to let air pass through…. so not too well ventilated. This means, it can be quite warm sitting in there unless used in colder climate countries. The other disadvantage is, it does not have a base. So, when we lift the hut, all the toys will be left on the floor…

The positive side is, it is light weight and can be folded effortlessly and be transported to any where. Unlike those bulky play houses, we need to have a permanent place for it and storing will be a problem.
So, is Darrius a happy camper with his new play hut? Well, he was playing with it the first day I opened it up for him and subsequently he only plays with it in the morning. He don’t stay inside too long and will starts to scatter his toys after a while…
