Another hard knock

Every time we come to KL, Darrius will sure to get ‘tattoos’ where he will gets lots of mozzie bites marks, scratches, blue blacks on his face or bungalows on his head. I have to admit that my parents’ place is not even 50% child safe as most of their furnitures have sharp corners. Well, most of their stuff are purchased before the birth of Darrius and his cousin so they can’t just throw those stuff away.

My mom already tried her best to keep as much of those ‘dangerous’ items away but there are still a few pieces which are essential items in the house so they remained. And this trip, Darrius gets another temporary ‘tattoo‘ which was rather heart breaking… to us (except PiggyBeng as I did not mention to him since he was on his way to Brazil… don’t want him to worry).

How it happens…

On Thursday night, while I was out in the living room folding the cloths, my mom and SIL were in the kitchen area and Darrius was walking about. According to my mom, apparently, Darrius mistook my SIL as me since both of us were wearing the same color T-shirt that day.

When Darrius realized that he has called out to the wrong person, he made a quick turn and wanted to dash out to the living room. And that was when he ‘banged’ his head at the corner of the dining table. The sharp edge sort of poke the corner of his right eye and he fell onto the floor and started crying.

Initially I thought he slipped and fell as my SIL was preparing water to bathe my nephew. When I heard the cries I dashed to where Darrius was lying and check for water on the floor but it was dry. Only later did I realized what happened when his eye started to swell. So I quickly brought him to the sofa and prepared an ice pack to sooth his swollen eye.

*sigh*

I guess I might have to ask my parents to consider to get higher table and chairs. Maybe a bar top so they can have bar stool which is round so it won’t cost such an awful swollen eye! Like kena punched liddat!
