A-wu-jiak

Two weeks ago, Darrius was extremely busy doing something cheeky in the living room while mommy is busy doing house chores or cooking in the kitchen. He was quiet and I have my suspicious after not hearing any noises from him for an extended period. he must be up to something.

Normally I will go out to inspect every now and then just to see what he is up to. Guess what? That fella was busy stacking all the mini cups on the floor altar! My MIL has an altar with Goddess of Mercy on the top (this one Darrius can’t reach) and the Floor God (this is on the floor) where she will place some mini cups of water and sometimes fruits.

That monkey of mine was having so much fun playing with the water in the cups as well as the ashes in the joss stick bowl! He sprinkled the ashes all over the place as well as the sofa and the piano chair! I was sooooooo mad! I scolded him and even smacked his palms for being so notti. All these while he has never go near the altar and I was surprised by the sudden change.

After cleaning up and much scolding, I left him to play with his toys and I went back to my chores. Then he called out to me and said he want to go shower. All along he never ask to take shower and why the sudden? So, guess what was the fella doing? He went and play at the altar again! This time worst. He found a spoon in his toy box and he has been scooping the ashes into his mouth! And his shirt was wet from the water and the ashes sticks to the shirt! Haiyo! I really don’t know what to do.

After a few times of the same mischief… PiggyBeng found an idea. We went to TGIF last week and the staff gave Darrius a balloon. And this is what PiggyBeng did to deter that little monkey from getting close to the altar…

.

According to PiggyBeng, this is A-wu-jiak or ghost in kid’s language. For some reasons, our little monkey is afraid of ghost so this trick works like magic! So far he has been avoiding the area… even when his toys fell near the area he will get us to retreat for him.

  1. Mmmm, I don’t really agree that scaring him about ghostly stuff will solve the problem. There is no other way?

Maybe u shud by a gate, this gate can make like a cage, u can put all his toys in it to play, the gate is quite high so he won’t able to climb out.

    If not how about playpen?

Last time my sons also like to play at the altar, the ashes, joy sticks, anything they can see there, i really give them a “hard” lecture, everytime they go near there and play, i use rotan to beat their hand and told them “NO” playing at the altar, few times later, they know each time they play with it, they will get “smack”! hahahahhahah

Darrius is so smart, get dirty and know how to request to shower.
