1st ulcer
The past few days Darrius will scream with ‘pain-pain’ the moment food he’s chewing touches his lips. Initially I was quite annoyed by his screaming as he refused to tell me what was wrong. Then, while I was brushing his teeth and he yelp again so I finally understood why all the screaming earlier. He has ulcer on his lower lip.
For almost 2 days he is on liquid diet (only milk and water) as he can’t take in any solid since he need to chew and with high chances of the food touching his lips, he will scream with tears streaming down. Last night I managed to see where is that ulcer after trying endlessly persuading him to let me find the cause of the pain.
This morning we went for dim sum and he managed to wallop the entire egg tart by himself! Guess the ulcer is recovering. Just boiled some sugar cane (teik-jiah in Hokkien) with Lo-Hon-Goh cooling tea for him.
I suspected he had too much heaty food in the past few weeks which accumulated all the heat in his body. Now he is also having slight flu which is causing difficulty in breathing at night. Just pray that he will be well soon as his daddy will be away for a week and end of the week will be in KL…

Ohhh.. so sorry to hear that. Hope your son gets well soon! Glad that his ulcer is getting better. I always can’t bear it when my kids don’t/can’t eat.
Especially with the unpredictable hot-and-cold weather now, it’s highly likely that kids are getting sick. Just hope you hang in there. It’s not easy with the husband away. My husband is working in KL while I’m in KK. So, it’s hard when the kids are sick.
