2nd time at the dam
A very back dated post…
Ever since we discovered about my ‘lump’, PiggyBeng has been complaining that I did not do enough exercise which causes all my pores/ducts to be blocked. Well, don’t know how true but he has been stressing me to do more outdoor exercise…
So, on the first week of May we went to a nearby park at Bukit Dumbar for some exercise. It has been a long-long time since I put on my sport shoes and guess what happened? My soles dropped off! I bought this pair in Singapore before my wedding (to shed some weight to fit into the wedding gowns). ![]()
PiggyBeng felt the place is not too suitable as it is a little too hilly and hot (not enough trees) so we went to Air Itam Dam a few days later. This is our (Darrius and myself) second time visiting the dam. The last time we were there, Darrius can’t even walk! He was on the stroller then and this time we walked the whole circle around the dam!
It was a nice evening and the place was quite crowded with joggers as well as family bringing kids to enjoy the nice scenery and breath in the fresh air. At least the air is not as contaminated as down the hill. Have not seen hibiscus for a long time and this white one is so nice so I decided to snap a close-up.

my grandma used to live down the road by the air itam dam. my dad and i used to hike up the dam using the hiking trails. it was fun and the air was really really fresh because there weren’t a lot of vehicles going up there yet. we would pass through small villages, waterfalls, streams, estates .. it was a fun hike up the dam. if we have enough energy by the time we got up there … we would walk/jog around the dam itself then usually we go back down using the road.
I have never been through the trails… maybe will try someday when Darrius is old enough to walk up. Now he wants us to carry him still after a few steps! That lazy bum!

wow, that is a nice place to go for a walk. a bit lonely looking, though.
Actually there are quite a lot of people just that so happened when we snap that photo no one was in sight.

sports shows are like that..if you didn’t wear them after a long time, they will koyak like that. imagine this happen to me when i went for ching ming praying. i had to use those rafia strings to tie the soles (both shoes leh!) onto the top section and had to hike from one mtn graveyard to another with it. my relatives laughed..and said that’s payback time for many years of not “visiting” my dead relatives during ching ming festivals.
Believe it or not I am still wearing that pair despite the bottom of both soles are gone! They are still so new looking as I hardly wear and it is such a waste to dump them away.
oops, i meant sports shoes..hahaha..
