A Taiwanese fair @ The Gardens

Last Friday we went out for dinner with a bunch of pretty mommies and an Angel at The Gardens. This was my second time there and even the first time I did not explore much so I hardly have much impression about the place.

This is the first time I took the Komuter train with Darrius and it was an awful experience. The train was delayed as it was raining earlier. We were lucky the rain turned into drizzles when we arrived at the station. We spent around 20 minutes waiting for the train to arrive and when it does, it was filled with commuters and we were practically squeezed inside like a can of sardine! What is worst, Darrius started to cry when the train moves. Initially I put him standing on his own but he wanted me to carry him shortly after… *sigh*

We finally arrived after some 15 minutes and I was so glad! Since we were early so I decided to check out Gardens. I was surprised they have quite a numbers of shops at the basement where the food arcade was located. Both Darrius and myself were having a great time tasting and sampling food from stall to stall! :P

About 15 minutes later, this sexy mommy called and we met up soon after. We proceeded to the sitting area at the ground floor to wait for the rest to turn up. Soon this Angel arrived and then this chirpy mommy and her son came to join us. We decided to have Taiwanese cuisine that evening since we have been having Japanese fair during our last meeting.

Fong Lye Tea House is situated at the 3rd floor which serves Taiwanese fast food where most on the menu came in set meals. Their presentation are interesting I must say. At the entrance we were greeted by this cute little boy and girl statues with a water fountain next to it. Darrius was curious and kept touching the statues but later he was more keen to disturb those white pebbles!

Since we have the Food Guide Booklet with us and our order is definitely exceeding RM50, we were entitle to a free plate of this yummy sweet potato balls. I ordered the 3 chilies beef set while I ordered the steam fish set for Darrius which he shared it with Oscar. The beef is nothing to shout about but the fish was rather yummylicious. We also ordered a steamboat set to be shared among us.

Later on this sexy Nyonya and this pretty lady joined us. They too ordered the steam fish set. Then it was chatter-chatter session until the restaurant closes at around 10pm. But these ladies can still eat wor! So we proceeded to Alexis (cafe & bistro) for desserts. According to Amah, they serves the best Tiramisu around town. We left at almost 11.30pm! Most of the shops were closed by then. Thanks to Angie for sending us home, again… :P
