Oh yeah, I almost forgot to document this… we went for our very first Jusco Members’ Day Sale at Queenbay Mall today! Could you believe it that we arrived at the mall at 10am sharp?
When we reached the multistoreys carpark, it was filled up very quickly.
I was smart today to bring Darrius’s stroller so I just buckled him there the entire time I shopped. I just fed him his snacks and he was pretty happy waiting for me. The Sale was nothing ‘fantastic’ as most of the items I wanted are not on sale. However I still bought over RM100 of stuff… In return, I could exchange RM10 gift voucher for every RM100 spent. Not a bad deal though.
There were some happy hours but those stuff are not in my list so I did not bothered. I ever heard from my mom that Jusco Members’ Day can be very ‘exciting’ in KL. People really go crazy when the bell for Happy Hours rang. And not to mention the extremely LONG queues!
Half way through, KittyCat smsmed me and said she was heading to Queenbay Mall too so we decided to meet up for lunch. It was good to catch up with her again… just too bad heeky Lucas was not there to keep Darrius entertained.
And would you believe that we spent more than 5 hours there???? We left at almost 4pm an reached home around 4.20pm which gave me just enough time to cook dinner for PiggBeng!

I did not cook lunch yesterday as I have to hand wash a big tub of laundry (fussy me) so there isn’t much time for me to prepare and cook. Since our house is very convenient (there are a foodcourt and a few coffee shops within walking distance) and finding food is never too difficult just that the taste of some of the food is so-so only.
I went to the foodcourt first and browse around for something nice to eat but I don’t feel like having noodles and the economy rice stall’s selection was quite limited and I know that lady is charging very expensive for the dishes. Then I decided to go across the road where there is this chicken rice stall which taste is so much better than the one in the foodcourt.
I ordered a chicken drumstick for Darrius and a a normal breast meat for myself. When I saw her chopping the chicken I said to myself ‘geez… so little only’ but thought that since she don’t charge that much (the price used to be like RM2.50) so I think nothing until I pay up. The packet for Darrius now cost RM3.50!!!!!
When I reached home and inspect the 2 boxes of chicken rice… they are not only expensive but the quantity has also shrink sooooooo much! One box can only fill Darrius’s tummy but definitely not mine! Gonna ban this chicken rice stall for sure!

When PiggyBeng was away, there will be no one other than myself to impose all the rules for Darrius. I will be very strict with him and without the interference from anyone, I felt I could at least discipline that Lil’ monster of mine. However, once daddy is back… there goes my efforts!
Darrius being Darrius, knows very well when he can start to be a bully. He knows that what mommy will stop him from doing, he might be able to get away with daddy. Daddy being the ‘boh chap’ person, will just do anything as long as his son is not making a scene. So, if Darrius wants to press the button at the lift, daddy will gladly carry him up and let him press. If Darrius wants to watch the TV, daddy will oblige as long as Darrius don’t go disturb him.
Tell me how to ‘ground’ the notti boy?
I really don’t know what to do or how to do it… to discipline this fella.
After all the scolding, screaming and grounding… they are in the trash now as daddy is ever so ‘boh chap’ and let Darrius do just about anything. If the Lil fella screams, daddy will just pinch and moves on. Can you see why I am so stress?

Yes… Darrius is GROUNDED…. NO TV for him today!
Even after I ‘threw all his toys away‘ he don’t seems to repent. This morning, before my eyes have any chance to open he already do so many annoying things. He woke up earlier than me and went on to strew all his toys on the floor (he has a toy box up in our room too) again after repeatedly telling him never to do that in the room. Then he went to stuff cards and papers under the TV. And before I knew it, he turned the TV table around making everything that has cables attached tumble down!
Tell me how not to flares up again?????
I almost wanna vomit blood! I am soooo stressed up by him man! Then we came down and I gave him his milk. After milk, he asked for TV and told him ‘NO TV TODAY’. He don’t quite get it and started to ask for other things instead. He told me he wanted to play puzzle. Fine. I gave him his puzzle and guess what? He strew them on the floor and walk away! So, like usual, I told him to pick them up or else the puzzle will have the same fate as his other toys. Still he won’t budge.
Well, no choice. I picked them up and to the dustbin they go! He cried but when I ask him why he did not want to pick them up he just starred at me. So I picked the puzzles up and ask him to put them back properly or else I will throw them away again. He refused. I’ve never seen a kid who is more stubborn than a mule!
*sigh*
Tell me how to teach this MONSTER????
If this continue, I don’t know when I’ll die of high blood man!

Though Darrius was sick the past few days, he never appeared to be sick as he still have the ability to throw all his toys on the floor. I scolded him a few times to get him to pick them all up but he just starred at me and act ‘boh chap’ (couldn’t care less attitude). Of course this raised my anger as I was already so tired with all the extra chores.
Every time I put back all his toys, he will take them out from the box again and they are all over the living room. When all that are done, he will bring all the books from the table and strew them on the floor… so the entire living room looked like a garbage dump. And that was not enough… he will them open up the piano and make some noise there and left it open despite the numerous times I told him not to touch the piano if he is not really playing it.
So, after a few times of picking up the toys and books… I really felt that I have enough! So, for one last time I told him to pick them up or else I’ll throw them all away. He refused to budge and so… I threw everything into the box and ‘threw’ the entire box away. Of course he started crying but I just ignored him.
Then after sometime, he came asking me for one of his stuffed toy, the rabbit and I casually told him that ‘mommy threw all your toys away’ so there is no more rabbit. Then I reminded him that if he still refused to keep his toys (I left a fire engine and another car toys on the table), they too will be in the dustbin.
Will not be bringing his toy box out in the next few days and see if he can live without them… I know I’m cruel but I really don’t know how to deal with him. Let him make do with the two toys for the time being so he will know if he do not keep his toys, there will be no more toys other than those 2 items.

It has been a tiring 2 days for me. Even the Lil Monster is so super sick, he still won’t let me rest but gave me hell. He is still as active as before… the only time he quiet down is after the medicine kicks in… after which I can tuck him in! I’ll have to quickly get my work done before he wakes up and create havoc again.
I was lucky he turns in early last night… at 7.30pm! I switched on the TV for him and went to do some work. In less then 15 mins he has dozed off on the sofa. I did not realize anything until my MIL saw him and told me about it. So I quickly scoop him up and changed him. Brought him up to the room and he slept soundly in less than 5 mins! And he woke up at 8am this morning! Too bad I did not have the energy to do much work and went to join him soon after. I am glad he is finally recovering.
Some of you did asked me why I sent him to the paed in the hospital. Well, this is the nearest private hospital to our home and considered as the most convenient place. Dr. Cheang is quite a famous paed in this hospital so we are quite happy with him treating Darrius. And I find his prescriptions are quite effective, hence we continue with him rather then finding another. Guess his popularity caused the long queue…
The weather has turned slightly better as it rained quite heavily this evening. I took the opportunity to clean the car with the help of the rain water as we do not have a pipe in the car porch area. I realized that my car lack many of those car accessories stuff that my neighbour has. One of my neighbour just bought a new car and they really furnished the car. I was thinking of getting some later when I have a chance to shop.

This morning has been a crazy one. Fetched PiggyBeng to the airport as he is going on a biz trip to Manila till Friday. That means, we will be alone again for the next three days without PiggyBeng…. just Darrius and myself. What worried me most is, Darrius has been having fever since Saturday. His highest temperature was 38.9 degree Celsius recorded on Saturday morning.
We brought him to our regular GP on Saturday afternoon and he was prescribed some antibiotic and a course of other related medicine for his cough and fever. We thought after a day or two the fever will subside but no… it comes and goes every night. Therefore, I was left without much choice, I brought him to the paed after dropping PiggyBeng at the airport this morning.
We have to wait for more than an hour as we arrived around 10+am, the paed just went up to the ward for his regular round! What a total waste of time. I did not want to come home first as it can be difficult getting a parking lot at the hospital. So waited and the consultation lasted less than 5 minutes!
Paed said Darrius is down with a bad throat infection which caused him to cough and the on/off fever. Was lucky it was nothing serious as I suspected dengue initially as his fever never seems to go away but no apparent red flushes. Quite relief upon knowing he’s not in any serious situation. Came back and thought of feeding him some oats but the fella was soooo tired that he nodded off on the sofa while waiting. Poor chap!

During the final week of our stay with my parents, my mom suspected that Darrius has all the symptoms of parasitic in toddler. My first instinct was, how could it be? All these while I have practiced good hygiene as I will normally clean his hands before I serve him his meals and will also religiously wipes all the surfaces where his food might be in contact with just to make sure everything is clean.
I was in denial and challenged my mom back. Then mom took out an article she has cut from the newspaper and show it to me to prove that she is not talking craps. After her explanation, I still refused to believe her and wanted to find out more and see what was written on the article is true. My worst fear confirmed when I googled on the subject and true enough, Darrius does have those symptoms!
There is no denial that during this stage, Darrius can be in contact with lots of germs without my knowledge. His hands can be in contact with all the dirty surfaces or he could have picked up things on the floor and eat them without knowing those are dirty and a lot of other possibilities.
Since young I’ve tried to instill good personal hygiene in him but kids will be kids sometimes. So, what I will do now is to make sure he will wash his hands with antibacterial soap before and after his meal, after playing with his toys and after playing at the playground or kiddyland as these are the main places where germs reside.
As he is able to understand much more now, it will be easier for me to explain to him the importance of good hygiene. And with the help of Huggies Cleanteam® videos, there will be no excuse for him to not understand the meaning of good personal hygiene!

The weather for the last couple of days were insanely HOT! Even with the fans on full blast we can hardly feel any cooling effect until we switched on the air condition. I sweat so much even from doing the simplest thing like folding the cloths under the fan!
Our mood were dampened the entire weekend as we do not feel like going out at all as the sun was glaring into our eyes. And worst of all, Darrius fell ill since Saturday morning with a high fever. Though it rained but it made the air worst as the acid smoke came up after the rain stopped.
And since our house we do not any patio, there is no way we can chill out in our patio furniture in the late evening when the sun goes down. In fact, everything was still very hot even after the sun has set. And we still need to switch on the air condition while watching TV after 7pm. Just wish the hot weather will pass soon if not the haze will definitely be back soon!
