Change

Is that what all of us need?

.

Today will be the 1st time I cast my vote in the country’s 12th general election. You must be wondering why I’ve never voted in the past? Well, I spent most of my adulthood in Singapore and at that time whether I vote or not it won’t make much of a difference since it was Dr.M who was ruling the country.

All these while I have very little interest in politics and I could not care less who will be governing the country. However, after having a kid, I started to realize that what the government do will greatly affect my kid(s) future. Looking at the state of our government is now, it really set me to think twice about voting for the right people to represent us, the nation of Malaysia.

One of my greatest fear is Darrius’s or and of my future kids’ future. My main concerns is the education they will receive, the security they will get and of course the opportunities that are distributed. Since years ago, I have very bad impression of the ‘government’ in this country. I deeply felt for my Indian and Chinese classmates who scored perfect A but yet was denied scholarships. And my Malay classmates who FAILED in certain core subjects were given overseas scholarships. Is this fair? I don’t think so! But we got to live with it.

We have so many graduates but many are still jobless. Then one of the joke was, the government will pay for extra training (they are attending classes mind you! Not even industrial training) plus pocket money if these graduates still can’t secure any jobs. I think this is one of the biggest laughing stock in history! Don’t the universities gave enough ‘classes’ while these people are in the universities? Don’t it just show that our tertiary education sucks so much that they are churning out graduates that won’t even fit in the marketplace? Then they have to be fed on taxpayers’ money to get additional trainings?

There are just too many grievances to list them down. I’ve heard of all the promises in the past election drives but I hardly get to see much changes. So, do we really want to see changes?

I’ve already made up my mind and I shall vote wisely later.

If you want to see changes, then you should know who you should be voting for.
