Artist or vandal?

A few months back I bought a box of crayons and a picture book for Darrius to doodle on. I was hoping by providing him a proper drawing kit he will not go and draw on other things around the house. I just don’t want him to vandalize scribble on his other reading material like the previous case.

I will make sure he only draw when he is in his high chair. This is to avoid letting him go wonder around and starts to draw on other surfaces.

Then he slowly graduated to draw on the piano top (next to my PC so can keep an eye on him) and later on to the coffee table in the hall. He did not make any markings with the crayons so far…

But a few days ago… we saw this…

Aaarrrrgggghhhh! He drew on the shoes cabinet! I was busy talking to PiggyBeng and did not notice what the Lil’ fella was doing until PiggyBeng wanted to go to the dining hall. Darrius was still vandalizing scribbling when PiggyBeng caught him standing quietly by the shoes cabinet. I was so mad that I took his right hand out and caned his palm. Of course he screamed and cried until like so charm liddat… Then I asked him, ‘Can draw on the cupboard or not?’ He shook his head while still sobbing. Actually, Eva bought Darrius a Doodle board for his birthday but this monkey refused to draw on the board!

Then PiggyBeng told him, if he wants to draw, must draw on paper. And this is what he has been churning out… some Picasso/abstract like masterpieces…

i think boys love to draw on non-allowed-material LOL..mine does that all the time, that’s why I don’t give him the pencil unless he’s supervised

Poor thing! I know Darrius ought to be taught but I see his face to sakit hati to beat him lah. That’s why I make a lousy mummy. I leave the disciplining up to my MIL and daddy hoho.

  5. ROTFL on your statement “crying until so charm liddat” but hor, I also smack Mei Mei when she did that to our walls. Ha ha ha…..

I noticed that he can colour the birthday cake in the book. Very cleverlah Darrius.

Maybe you can buy washable crayon/colors. It can wipe off even if it is drawn on furniture or wall.
