Weekend retreat @ Dorsett Penang

This is a very-very back dated post…. almost 2 weeks before Chinese New Year.

We always bring Darrius to the KFC outlet just opposite Dorsett Hotel as they have a nice and not over crowded playground. A couple of times in last December we saw a huge billboard outside the hotel with all the promotions. Then there was this promo for a room night with 2 breakfast @ RM165. So I called them up and told that the promo is only for January, from Friday to Sunday. Good deal?

Since PiggyBeng just received his bonus, I told him we should have a weekend retreat…. hehehe always the same excuse. After procrastinating for 2 weeks we finally decide to go on the last weekend…

Overall the hotel was ok but not as we have expected. It looked grander from outside but not even look 4-star as it claimed. However, our stay was quite pleasant. Nevertheless, Darrius enjoyed his time at the pool… we were quite undisturbed as there were hardly anyone using the pools.

Then we went over to the nearby New World Park for dinner and walk about the new establishments there. We were quite surprised to see so many new small cafes and restaurants has made their way there but very unfortunate, the place did not command the traffic it has hoped for. On a Saturday night, the place was unusually quiet just like a weekday night.
