I truly love the internet. And with my PayPal account, I can purchase so many thing online from the comfort of my home regardless of the time and day. In fact I have just bought some medical supplies from an online pharmacy.
The seamless procedure is another plus point. With online payment such as PayPal I do not even need to insert my credit card details which I find is so much better. At least I know my personal details that is connected to my status is safe from prying eyes.
There will be no qualms for me to get more stuff online now even if they cost more… after all some of the stuff we can’t get locally. Also, with the falling of USD, it is better that I used my online account to make purchases.

This is a very backdated post.
My dad celebrated his 61st birthday on the 18th of February which is still within the Chinese New Year period. We were very fortunate again this year as we were back in KL for the occasion. Last year was on the 1st day of Chinese New Year…
As the actual day was a Monday, we decided to celebrate earlier. We went for a simple dinner at a nearby restaurant, Jumbo which is in Taman Yulek. We wanted to have some of the course meal but they only served that to 1pax per table minimum. We had no choice but settled with ordering some simple dishes. Can’t get very good food during Chinese New Year as there are just too many people eating out!
These are what we had that night…
.

Steamed Kampung Chicken, Cheesy Prawns,
Pork Ribs, Lo Han Jai & Seafood Pot
.
The entire restaurant was packed with people and the table we had was not a very ideal one since it is just next to the door where food are being brought out. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our meal… And here is the dotting grandfather with his two grandsons…
.

.
Since the atmosphere were rather roudy and noisy, we decided not to sing the birthday song there. So we adjourned to my brother’s place. And these are the cupcakes for the special occasion…
.

.
And a few shots of the boy who was caught enjoying the icing on the cupcakes!

The sound of rain splattering onto was roof was a joy to us after such a long time. It hardly rain… or no rain at all during the Chinese New Year period. Unlike other states, Penang has very low rain falls during this time of the year. Every time when we were out, the sun rays are biting into our skin.
It started around late afternoon yesterday while I was cooking. You can’t believe how happy I was as I really dreaded the hot hot days in this island. My happiness doubled when it started to rain heavily last night… and for the first time I went to bed early!
The rain has not really stop since then… it is already 4pm now and there are still light drizzles…. LOVE the cool weather!

Hehe… some of you will know why hor? Guess what? I won myself another item from making guesses in one of our fellow blogging mommy’s site! This time the gift was from Zoopslife.com. Zoopslife.com is a blog about the daily ramblings of a Penangite mommy, Sue, whom is married to her charming UK beau and their little handsome prince, Ian.
According to Sue, there are more such guessing games in the future and the gifts are getting very attractive. So, if you like to win something for yourself, hop over to Sue’s blog and start guessing!

Nice gift rite?

Normally for the Hokkiens, the 9th day of the Lunar New Year is an exceptional important day. It is called the Ti-Kong day where most will buy sticks of sugar canes for the offering altars. This year, without my SIL and her family, everything has been cut down… so less elaborate. MIL just do simple praying and burnt some paper money…
PiggyBeng took the next day off as he wanted to let Darrius enjoy the mass fireworks around our neighbourhood as well as our drive to KL the next day. We drove out around 8pm+ but we hardly caught any firework display. According to my FIL, there were some street parades in the city but we did not drive there.
At around 11pm+, we started to hear all the noises from fireworks. I’ve already prepared Darrius for his sleep but how can he sleep with all those noises right? So, instead of going out of the house, we get quite good view from one of the room upstairs!
.

.
Darrius actually stood for almost 45 minutes waiting and watching the fireworks patiently! He did not even make any noises when there were non-stop of firework displays. After watching for so long, he still refused to go to sleep.

After much deliberation, I finally made myself step on the weighing scale this afternoon. I was anticipating shock but boy was I shocked! Not a good note right? Well, as much as I hate, I put on another 3kg! Tell me how to get those off!!!! I still have tins of cookies to get rid off!
I am quite adamant in not using any medication to help me lose weight but I think I am losing the battle very soon. I am contemplating on trying Zylorin after reading its effectiveness but I am still reluctant to try them out. Has anyone used it before? Please share ok!

Sometimes when I go out to pack food or even just eat out at those hawker centres I can’t bear to see how they prepare my food or I will rather not buy at all! Yeah, unlike the western countries, most of the food vendors here don’t practice good hygiene. That was why we often struck by diarrhea after consuming these food.
I guess our government should encourage our local food vendor to use those exam gloves which is like another skin but could keep food clean. Talking about this reminded me of a mamak place where the roti-canai guy has traces of feces in his finger nails! Yuckz!

I was supposed to post this up yesterday but due to so many happenings, I just can’t find the time to do anything!
In this post I would like to thank 2 very lovely mommies for being so thoughtful. It has been a while since I get any birthday pressies from friends… sign of old age eh? And thanks a huge bunch to AnnieQ and Jazzmint for giving me this set of Skin Food.

Though I have not open any of the bottles but I can smell their sweetness!

After tinkering with the idea of having my own bake shop for sometime now… I’ve decided not to sit on it any more and go ahead with the idea of making it happen!
In conjunction with my birthday, I would like to take the opportunity and launch my Lil’ Cupcakes e-shop! I would like to thank all of you for all the encouragement to turn this dream into a reality.
Without further ado, it is my pleasure to present to you…

The site is still very new and not many posts yet but I will update it in no time!
