Be my weekend chef honey…
For those SAHMs who want to have some rest over the weekend, I’ve found a very good idea/trick… provided your hubby likes to cook or want to learn how to cook lar!
I know most of you have to cook at least 4 days during the week and will certainly hope that you won’t have to mess up the kitchen over the weekend.
So, what is the trick?
Tell your hubby that you’ll love to taste his cooking… give his ego a boost by telling him that his cooking might taste better than yours and he could even be a chef someday! Yeah!
That’s the thing about men, they love you when you praise them… lots of it!
I have to cook most of the days during the week except Friday night as we normally dine out with FIL. Sometimes I have to cook two meals on Saturday and Sunday… so imagine how tiring that can be. Not to mention about running out of ideas. Therefore, I really need someone to cook for me and who else can I ask to take on the task? Of course PiggyBeng lor!
It all started from this day and I have been having Penang Hokkien Mee a few times since. Later on, I got to taste this…. yummy! Then on another weekend a few months back, I cooked the Asam Laksa premix and PiggyBeng said it don’t taste right so he suggested he will cook from scratch. What can I say? Of course say GREAT lar!
The asam laksa was good so I praised a bit and PiggyBeng was of course ‘kembang’ lioa… then later on I get to eat this. As he did not managed to get the taste right he even cooked a few times to perfect it. *grin*
Then on another occasion, we went to eat here and I really love the way the prawns were cooked so PiggyBeng asked if I know how to cook? Well, not that I don’t know but I know it requires a lot of work so I told him ‘I don’t know wor’. So he asked if I’m keen to try if he cooks it? Of course want lar! So, I get to taste this on a few of the weekends. Good eh?
Two weeks ago, Popular Bookshop started their year end sale and for some of the recipes books they were going for 20% off. Guess what? PiggBeng grabbed these….

There are many yummy recipes inside but like usual, this lazy wife won’t be bothered… so I asked PiggyBeng, ‘why don’t you be my weekend chef?’ My man took it as compliment!
And he asked me to choose one recipe each week and he will prepare it for me. So, I’ve chosen this last weekend…

And tadaaa….
.
Indonesian Spicy Roast Chicken
.
Though PiggyBeng did not follow the ingredients 100%, the chickens tasted very good… and I finished my share in minutes!
