Cashing on Duh-Nuts!

First it was bread talking, then it went on to Roti talk and now the dodo-nuts fad invading the Malaysian soil… And it seems ‘we’ love to have choo-choo train Q for such thingy… when they are new… then they will die a natural death somehow… Can any of you remember St. Cinnamon the cinnamon rolls?

On Monday, after we checked in into the hotel, we walked over to the newest shopping sensation in the heart of the city… The Pavilion. This is one of the most up-market shopping mall to date I’ve ever been around here (have yet to visit Garden). And I must say, I love the space! I did not realize that the previous BBGS (Bukit Bintang Girl School) was sitting on such a huge ground! I’ve been there for church camps before but I don’t remember the school compound was that huge….

Oop! I side tracked.

I guess most of you know that the newest fad is munching on donuts. Personally I don’t really fancy donuts that much. In my entire life, I don’t think I’ve ever bought any donuts from Dunkin Donuts before. So, after hearing from my dad (yes, my dad!) about the ‘femes’ donuts chain located in Pavilion, I was curious. Dad told me that the donuts were very popular so I decided to ‘Q’ to get some to try. So I joined the mega looooooong ‘Q’ at J.Co Donuts at the basement within the Food Republic area.

For half dozen = RM11.90

.

Well, I must say that paying RM2-2.30 for a piece of donut which can hardly fill any corners of my stomach is something I will want to go for in the future. If I am hungry, I think I need to wallop at least a dozen of these donuts which will cost me RM20 at the very least. Not forgetting the amount of sugar and calories I am pilling up into my system.

I wonder how long will this duh-nuts fad will go on… Will it die a natural death like some of those earlier fads? Prolly after the franchisee cashed in all the $$$!!! However, before that’s going to happen, I have a very strong supporter in my family…

Yum…. I lurveeeeee donuts!

I’ve wanted to get some for Darrius the next day but the Q and the ‘extreme’ slow service at the counter really put me off! After Q-ing for 10 mins… I am still at the very same spot!!!! Well, I walked off lah of course! So Darrius has to make do with the ‘polo bun’ which I bought across over at Lavender! :|

Sigh…I saw the juicy-looking donuts in KL too but the long queue put us off. Have you tried Krispy Kreme? Wonder if they are similar in taste as they look similar.

Try to avoid when the item is still hot and new (if you can lar… must tahan one…) so indirectly you will avoid the loong Q too. The shop will still open even after 3 months, right? (my cents) And I think people is not going to take donut everyday kua… Why so hurry?
