22-Month+ lioa ah!

I’ve been so busy blogging for money lately that I have not been doing any regular updates on Darrius’s milestone check. He turned 22-months more than two weeks ago and that means, in less than 2 months he will be celebrating his 2nd Birthday!!!!!

How time flies. Just a year ago, he can’t even walk and now he is jumping, climbing and running everywhere! A year ago, he was still this chubby little baby that always has a cheeky smile ready whenever we asked him to smile but now, he hardly wanted to do that if he knows we are about to snap a photo of him (was lucky today he smile for this shot!). He has grew so much and look more mature now.

Now, he chatter non-stop and always repeat his lines until I get so frustrated sometimes! I called him Mr. Cheong Hei (long winded) when he does that. He is also Mr. Chi-Chi-Cha-Cha (chatterbox) as he can chatter on and on even when he is all by himself! Then he loves to immitate/mimic whatever we say just like a parrot! Well, a year ago, when he can hardly utter a word, we so wish he can talk but now we hope he can be quiet sometime!

A few weeks ago, when I left him alone to watch his favorite Nursery Rhymes, I caught him singing! He can follow some of the songs and will sing along… aloud! His favourite is Rock-a-by-baby, Twinkle-twinkle Little Star, ABC Song, The Happy Song, The More We Get Together, The Fingers Song, Old McDonald and It’s a Small World. Sometimes while I change him or when I tuck him in he will ask me to sing those songs and he will happily sing along. For some of those songs, he even came out with some hand motions which is quite adorable.

He can feed himself now and that is a huge relief in a way but the aftermath is something I hope to cease soon… Guess in a few more weeks he can pretty well eat by himself without needing much help from us. Till then, there are still more cleaning jobs for me.

Since he can talk pretty well, he has become more demanding too! He will tell us what he wants or do not want. He will ask for things and if we refused to give him he will do his crying stunts until we give in. Not forgetting those high pic screaming too. Lately he has been a cry baby of some sort and will ask me to carry him… not sure what little tricks he has up in his mind…

As for his diet, I have been experimenting on a lot of new food and so far he is enjoying the varieties of food served to him. Most of the time he will demand to self feed so I have to cook more textured food so he can scoop them easily. He really like drinking soup but I will feed him that if not I think instead of he drinks the soup, the soup will be drinking him up! I’ve even started feeding him Milo for a change. So far he has been taking it well and no apparent allergy reactions has surfaced.

He is still on diapers as this lazy mommy is still not doing much on potty training. Lately he has been shying away from his daily ritual in doing his big biz… not sure why and he will only tell me he wanted to poo when the poo is almost out or already nested in the diaper! Aaaarrrggghhh!

Most of the time he can keep himself entertained by playing with his toys. He has started to like playing with building blocks as well as some puzzles. I have even started to show him some flash cards and he is doing well in recognizing some of the pictures as well as words and numbers. He can recite A-G and some other alphabets in between. As for numbers, he can recite from 1-4, 7, 9 and 10.
