I can’t believe he said that!
This morning like any other morning, I brought Darrius down after he woke up and prepare his morning feed of milk. He is normally a good boy in the morning and would be very obedient while waiting for his milk. I will asked him to lie down on the single couch in the living room and pass him his milk and he will happily take his bottle and finish up his milk in no time.
When he is done, he brought the bottle to me and told me he has finished his milk and gave me his sweetest smile. Then I ask him to play his toys or ride on his little play cars while I continue to read my emails and some online news. After a few minutes he demanded that I read to him so I told him ‘mommy needs to do some work first’. Normally he will turn angry and sometimes will even cry but what happened this morning really took me by surprise and made my jaw drop!
Darrius: Mommy read books (brought me his stack of books)
Me: Later boy, let mommy finish reading this… (cont reading news)
Darrius: Don wan!
Me: Wait, later mommy read books to you ok?
Darrius: Don want mommy do work!
Me: *Shocked. Speechless. Guilty*
Geez, I am so shocked and reeling in disbelief that my little boy said that to me! I could never anticipate him to be in that level of maturity and utter that entire sentence. He is not even 22-months yet! I felt a sense of guilt gushed through me the moment he said that. Guessed I’ve over used the ‘work’ as an excuse to blog do personal stuff instead of playing with him and now he is trying to express to me his hurts and dissatisfactions. My poor boy. **Mommy is really sorry. Please forgive Mommy please**
So, what I did next was, I switched off the PC and went to play with him. I think from now onwards, I can only blog or do anything online after he sleeps every night. And since I am so sleep deprive, I might not be able to blog hop as much as I like…

Darrius is a smart boy, rarely see boy could develop good speech at such a young age.
Darrius is truly good at words ah, even at this tender age. Well done, Darrius. Way to go.
I can understand. I’m ridden with the same guilt over this matter.
