Singapore 2007 – Day 3
That day PiggBeng has to go for meetings so it was me, Darrius and my parents for the entire day until dinner time. Darrius slept till quite late so by the time we were out for breakfast it was almost 10+. We went to Bedok Interchange again for breakfast with my uncle and his wife and did some shopping at one of the cheap supermarket called Shing Song. Mom bought lots of stuff!
After shopping we went to Vivo City. This was my our 1st time there after it’s completion. When I was there in 2004, they were still constructing. Then we did not get to go when we were there last year. The place has changed so much! I did not go out of the complex as it was very hot but I can see the entire SWTC has transformed into something really nice. Back then (in the late 90′ and early 00′) this place is very quiet on normal days but it was extremel crowded now!
What I love most was, there’s a DAISO there!!!! Itelyu, my mom and I bought so many stuff from there! We just love those creative Japanese products which are sold for $2 only!!!! Yeah, stuff in the entire store are priced at $2 across the board! I’ve been to their first outlet in IMM Building in Jurong 3 years ago and so happy to know they have a few more outlets near the city. There’s one in Plaza Singapura too but I did not manage to go there!!! Too bad we went by MRT, if we have driven that day I would have cart more stuff home!
Darrius refused to nap and has been really cranky the whole time we were there. He only dozed off when it was almost 4.30pm. We left at around 5.30pm and it was super duper crowded! It was sardine packed in the MRT trains until we reached our destination at Kembangan. We were lucky that PiggyBeng arrived before us so he came and pick us up from the station…. our legs almost gone jelly from all the walking!
That night we went for another family dinner, this time it was my treat (so this is where one chunk of my paid postings earning went to). Another of my uncle and his wife came by to join us. We went to this Chinese fine dining restaurant just right below the HDB flat! I can’t remember which street is that but it was near the FengShan Primary School.
The food is so-so and a bit costly. I did not expect that even HDB area has this kind of ‘up-market’ restaurant. They serve expensive sharkfins soup as well as Buddha Jump Over the Wall… so is not ‘play-play’ one. Normally I can only find the normal ‘tai-chow’ which charged a more reasonable price. The dish that I like most is the Coffee Spare Ribs. Must learn how to cook this one day!
After dinner we went to ECP again! Since we have our car so we have more freedom and is not restricted by the time. This time we went further up, after the jetty. Darrius was having so much fun running about…

He’s moving pretty fast there. haha Reminds me of my daughter. When she was little she would walk down the sidewalk so cute. We get to the end of the street I pick her up and turn her 180 degrees around and she kept walking. Like not losing a step. Only change direction.
Yum – the food looks good on pics! How did the coffee spare ribs taste? That sounds interesting
I like how the HDB flats are organized into little townships – everything you need is around the corner!
aiyoh..he looked so bored sitting in the stroller.. hahaha Like saying “Enough mum…enough…stop snapping my pic ya”
He looked so relax and as if he’s thinking .. “mom with her camera again… oh my” Cute!
WAh, so much fun you have there. Go shopping only meh. Zoo and underwater world is nice.
Waahhh… your adventure so nice! He’s truly growing big.

sing has got lots of nice eateries, but some with food so-so only. Food for them is relatively cheaper than here, if u earn S$. I see all their Jap food all so cheap!!!
I live near ECP! 2 roads away but can walk there. You staying with your uncle at Kembangan? That’s east of Singapore leh.
Daiso sells good and cheap stuff.
Too bad, didn’t meet up.
