Singapore 2007 – Day 2

We started our day with Katong Laksa (from a stall called Marine Parade Katong Laksa)@ one of the coffee shop behind Bedok Stadium (I have lousy memory on road names so can’t offer the exact address). This was my only laksa meal for the entire trip as there are simply too many types of food I wanted to eat but do not have enough meal time to fit them all! It was not the best bowl but at least I had a bowl of creamy yumminess! :)

 *Slurp* Yummy Katong Laksa!!!

My uncle is an amateur photographer and buying SLRs seemed to be his current craze in the gadgets world. He currently own 2 SLRs and lots of lenses which all SLRs owners will drool! I told him to get a domain so he can host all his photos but he said he is too lazy to do all the works… maybe will talk to him again as it is such a pity to just keep all those beautiful photos hidden from the world! The following shots on Darrius are taken by him…

After breakfast we took a bus from Bedok Interchange to Tampines Interchange. Though this is not Darrius 1st time on the bus but he still has that fearful look on him when he got on the bus. My dad has to pacify him when we first sat down on the bus. In less than 5 minutes, the Lil’ fella started his notti antics….

I wanna go down there!

When we arrived at Tampines Interchange, we parted way with my parents and Darrius as both PiggyBeng and myself need to settle some stuff at the CPF office as well as the NTUC Income office. After we were done, we went to have our lunch at Tampiness Mall Kopitiam. I had the yummy mixed beef noodles…. Not as good as the one in Scott’s Foodcourt but can do lah! :P

After lunch we took another bus to Orchard Road. It was a long ride! You must be wondering why we did not take the MRT instead rite? Well, my parents wanted to see some sceneries (eerrr… more like looking at all the HDB flats), while PiggyBeng’s reasoning was, by going on a bus we are sure to have seats and the final reason, it is for Darrius to ride on a double decker… :)

Orchard was like usual, extremely crowded with lots of shoppers. We only walked briefly at Takashimaya. There was a baby fair at the basement so we spent quite a bit of time there as my parents wanted to check out some strollers for my brother’s baby. Then we walked through Wisma Atria to CK Tang. It was so crowded and with the closing of MRT entrance from Wisma Atria make it so inconvenient for us to go up and down just to get to CK Tang. The we were sardine packed on the MRT as it was the after office rush hours.

That night we had a scrumptious dinner together with my uncle’s family at Bedok North but I was too busy attending to Darrius that I did not have chance to take any photos!!!! Darrius was quite cranky… not sure why. After I fed him he was quite ok but still very kacau… We had 2 crab dishes (black pepper and chilies), Buddha’s bowl and a few more which I can’t remember.
