A painful fall…
It was almost 11pm and the Lil’ fella refused to sleep and insist that he wanted to play. I was rather tired so I was lying down on the bed while PiggBeng was still busy typing away on the PC. Then I told PiggBeng to shut down the PC and switch off the light so Darrius can sleep.
Then PiigyBeng just switched off everything and the whole room was pitch dark while Darrius was still standing by the bed side. In less then 5 seconds I heard a loud ‘Thump!’ and Darrius screamed! I was in total shocked, jumped up from the mattress and PiggyBeng quickly switch on the light.
The poor boy tripped and fell and knocked the bed side table. He was bleeding both inside and outside the mouth area. There was a small cut just below his lips and I suspected he also knocked his gum as I saw blood oozing out from his mouth. ‘Ouch!’ I can feel his pain.
So, like a mad woman, I ran down to get some ice and wrapped them in a hanky and rub it gently on the bruise and cut area but Darrius was screaming in pain. He refused to let me do anything to his wound so we both took turns to carry him and calm him down. I tried giving him some water but he refused. Then I told him I’ll get him some Ribena instead. He stopped crying upon hearing my offer so we went downstairs and I mixed some Ribena for him which he gulped down in record time. *Pheeeew!”
While he was drinking, I cleaned up his wound and all the blood that started to dries up around his lips’ area. Luckily he did not scream again as he was busy drinking his Ribena. We brought him up after that but he still refused to sleep. He wanted us to read to him instead. So we went through his pictures book a few times and has to bribe him that we will only bring him go kai-kai the next day if he sleeps now…. *sigh*
He finally fell asleep after I patted him for about 10 minutes or so… Just hope the cut will not swell up tomorrow.

Sakit hati la when I was reading this post. Looks like our kids are sharing some pains lately.

Poor Darrius but I guess it is part and parcel of growing up, no matter how they fall. But as parents we almost always have heart attacks when that happens. Lol. Nvm, give your little darling a hug for me
wei wei wei…aiyo my delicious KFC oso share the same as darrius too, he bump onto the bedrm door at mil hse and fell 1x laat nite while running out of the hse to welcome me back lasnite and had a big swollen bump on his left forehead…sigh..so heartpain wor…

aiyo, i read also i can feel the pain. i very very scare to leave brandon alone on the bed. one time he walked over the side and fell, but luckily slightly missed the night stand. i know as mothers we are very very gun cheung about our kids.
I know how you feel because I experienced a similar situation in Singapore
Hope your lil one is better now.
By the way, the moral is to leave a light on in the room, and not depend on the PC light

ayo yo yo so pain pain! Both my kids somehow fell down from the bed before…kinda common thingy..but I’m sure ur boy is tough enough no problems!
Aiyoh, must be so painful. Wrapping ice in a hanky to soothe the wound / pain really helps. This sort of accident is quite common and had happened to my gals too. Really scary hor, esp seeing the blood part… thank God he’s ok.
perhaps you can consider getting a small night lamp and fix at the other corner of the room…at least can see the lil one while keeping the room not that bright.

Ouch ouch ouch! After reading this I know I’m not the only one. Ethan fell recently too and it got his upper lip which bled and got swollen soon after. Then another time he fell while brushing his teeth, didn’t know where the blood was coming from then. So worried. Those are the first two falls that resulted in bleeding so I know how much it hurts them as much as it did hurt us. Just want to take the pain and suffer for him.
Poor Darrius, I bet though, he’s all good now, like nothing happened. They just forget so easily. We are the ones left to suffer the pain in our hearts.
oh how my heart aches. he’s probably better already. what about mom and dad? how are you guys holding up?
