Wooooooohooooooooooooooo! We finally arrived in the Lion City after a long drive….
Yeah, if you have been following my travel blog, you would have probably know that we have been planning a trip down to this favourite place of mine… Yeah, a place we called ‘home’ for almost 10 years before PiggyBeng hijacked me to Pearl of the Orient!
Actually I have wanted to come last week but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to either postpone or cancel the trip. Then after all the ding-ding dong-dong, PiggyBeng decided to join us. However, there were some problems… as I have drove my car back to KL, PiggyBeng needs to take a bus/train down to KL so he can drive my car back. And with the recent clamp down on the Express Bus drivers, there were shortage of buses plying the long distance routes. So, we can only confirmed the trip when PiggyBeng arrived safely in KL yesterday afternoon by bus.
It will be a very short trip as PiggyBeng do not want to use up more of his available ALs as he wanted to keep it for something else at the end of this year… if you want to know what it is… check out my travel blog!
*cheeky grin* This trip is for me to settle some banking and CPF stuff. I’ve transfered some money from my PayPal account to my Singapore bank account so hopefully the transaction is successful and I can get to see my $$$ real soon!
This is Darrius second time here. The first time was when we were on our way to Los Angeles in end Oct 2006. Time really flies! We did not get to do much since Darrius was still quite sick during the few days we had in Singapore so I really hope we can do more activities this time round. Will be meeting a few old friends, ex-uni mates and also attending a fullmoon party too! I might try to meet up with some blogger friends here but will have to see if I can fit in more slots to my already overly packed schedule!
Ok, better get going now…

Last Sunday afternoon we have wanted to go and try this The 60’s Teow Chew Fishball Restaurant for lunch in PJ (around Paramount Garden) but the place was soooooooooo crowded that we decided to go elsewhere to eat after failing to find a car park. So, after almost half a day shopping at the Curve, Ikano Centre and Tesco, we went to try our luck again and we were lucky that the restaurant was quite empty during dinner time!
How did we get to know about this restaurant? Well, my parents were watching this makan-makan show on Astro Channel 30 titled ‘5 Meals A Day’ hosted by a popular local DJ, Angel or better known as Chui Leng. The show is about having 5 meals a day with RM50. The show is aired on Sunday from 8pm and it’s a 30 minutes show. Pretty interesting.
Ok, so what so special about this fishballs restaurant? The boss pride his food which are all FREE of MSG and boric acid. And you can have extra noodles FREE of charge too. Price wise, not cheap but not very expensive (RM4.50 for a bowl of fishball noodles) and side dish are charged at per/pc ranges from RM0.80 to RM1.20.
I like the place simply because of its hygiene. The tables and chairs are very nice especially the ones with back rest. Antiques marble tables and very child friendly (have many high chairs). We ordered the fu-chok-yi-mai (barley with bean skin) drinks which tasted quite yummy.

I loves watches especially those that comes in rectangular shapes. When I was younger, I was a watch collector… getting myself a new watch every 6 months. Yeah, I have many weird hobbies but that’s how things were for me before I got hitched!

Recently I spotted some Skagen watches and one that caught my eyes was the Women’s rectangular watch with genuine Swarovski crystals on the case and comes with genuine Mappa leather bands with suede edges. ewatches.com is offering FREE shipping for this particular model and I can save a total of $20 bucks! If you are interested, do check out ewatches.com for more info!

When I was living in Singapore a few years ago, there was this initiative by the government to encourage the public (especially private companies) to accept criminals who has been jailed and released and to give them a second chance. They called it the Yellow Ribbon campaign. The reponses from the public for the campaign was quite luke warm. Why?
The thing about Asians, we are not quite the forgiving lot. Probably it is our culture that shaped us in such a way. The way we view past criminals as sinners who can never be forgiven even they have been punished and has repent from their wrong doings. We view thes ex-criminals with lots of negativities and we could not trust them.
If the general public could not even accept them, how can companies accept these past criminals into their companies to work? It’s sad to be living in such stigma, hence many of them has gone back to do all the illegal activities and might get into the hands of law again… which could put them back behind bars.

Today an old school friend TC whom I met during the Parenthood fair recently at Mid Valley called me up and we chatted for a while. In between our conversation, I asked her if she still keep in touch with some of our old classmates back in the secondary school and etc…
Then I remembered another friend VG who gave birth to a baby boy some time back but her baby was suffering from low oxygen due to the doctor’s negligent. I did not get to talk to VG during that time as she was in a very devastated state though I did called her up and after that we sort of lost contact… As I was on the phone with TC this morning, I asked her how is VG’s son doing and I tell you, I felt sooooooo sad upon hearing what actually happened… The poor boy is in a vegetable state! He can’t see, he can’t hear and he can’t do anything but has been bed ridden since birth! *sob* *sob*

I know there’s a little vain pot in everyone of us. Besides the normal stuff we can make changes to every now and then to make our appearance more attractive such as getting a hair perm, a hair cut, a new change of wardrobe or put on some extra make up.
But there are times when we just wish we can change a little of those features we are never happy about… don’t we? Like myself, I have wanted to make my face less rounded… Having a sharper face will make me look slimmer… since I’ve been pilling up on my weight recently… *sigh*
There have been thoughts lately… that I wish to get a new image… you know, when age is cacthing up, I just feel like having a total make over… a new face and a new body… I guess is about time I pay a visit to Toronto plastic surgery to seek preofessional consultation for this make over process!

After our shopping trip at The Curve this afternoon, my dad wanted to drop by The Giant Mall in PJ (near UNITAR) to look for some stuff as well as hide away from the scorching hot sun.
It was quite crowded but the crowd was manageable. However, I find the place a little complex (the way they design it) as the walk ways are quite cramp and the entrance/exit were not properly indicated from the parking zone. Inside the hypermarket, there were many exhibits in the middle of the walk ways which make it difficult for shoppers to maneuver their shopping carts.
Anyway, I’ve always dislike the check out at Giant, so I seldom buy stuff from there and most of the time, their stuff are more expensive than other hypermarkets.
While go round and round waiting for my parents to shop for their stuff… I pushed Darrius around until my dad came looking for us. And like usual, my dad will spoil the Lil’ brat by letting him to have some cheap thrills…..

*beep* *beep*

When I am idling and not doing anything in particular, my mind will starts to wander or run wild thinking a whole lots of stuff… It could be about Darrius, PiggyBeng, my parents or anyone that I know or close with.
Sometimes, when I am combing my hair and while staring at my own reflection, I will start to think of some funny or weird stuff… I often think I needed a nose job as I find my nose is rather flat. And of all things, Darrius has to takes after me to have a flat nose… *sigh*
Another thing which has been bugging me is, Darrius has not been growing vertically… could he has my short genes too? *double sigh*

My mom usually do not cook on weekends so we will dine out most of the time. My mom likes these latest blooms of Hong Kong style eateries that have flourished in our country in the past few years. Dad thinks their milk teas taste better than those he gets from the kopitiam. And dad has their discount card, so the more reasons why we should dine there….
I must say most of the food in these cafes do not come cheap. Majority of their ingredients are those pre-packed or canned stuff such as luncheon meat, sausages, tuna, instant noodles and etc…. However, I am surprised that these cafes are doing pretty well though not much culinary skills are involved to cook the dishes on the menu. For instant, I saw many are using instant noodles but they added in a few slices of luncheon meat or suasages with eggs to come up with a bowl that cost almost RM10 each. Huge profit margin eh?
I think a lot of youngsters are being bought by the fancy garnishing or designs on the drinks rather than the taste of the food.
Mom ordered their Spiced Pork Fried Rice while dad ordered their Fried Hor Fun. I was unable to decide so I ended up with this Fried Chicken with Tomato Sauce which was actually pasta sauce! Then I get a slice of French toast. Darrius has his dinner earlier so nothing for him!
My dad fed him some Hor Funa nd I fed him some rice so the Lil’ fella is just as happy.
Over all, the food is so-so only but the ambiance was quite ok. Brightly lit and service is prompt. We’ve dined many times in their other outlet over at 1 Utama. They have some fancy looking drinks but the serving are rather huge so is better to share between 2 person unless you are extremely thirsty!
