Update on Darrius
After my earlier post on the lil fella, we decided to bring him to our GP for advice since his fever has not subsided. When we went in, Darrius was so frighten that he refused to let our GP to even touch him! I guessed he was extremely trumatised by the experience at the clinic yesterday. Then our GP tried to take Darrius’s temperature but that lil guy screamed and wriggled so much… and turned so hysterical! Our GP was a little frighten so he told us to go to our paed instead…
Off we go to the hospital and was lucky there were only 2 other patients before us. We waited for about 20 minutes before we were called in. Again, Darrius was hysterical upon seeing the paed. The paed managed to take Darrius’s temperature and the nurses inserted a suppository and we were told to get the oral medication for the fever and pain killer. I told the paed I have difficulty adminitering oral medication to Darrius as he will either spit everything out or refused to take altogethere. So paed said he will show me the way after we collected the medication. It was not easy to feed Darrius… even the paed was having a hard time… PiggyBeng and myself have to pin Darrius down on the bed while paed tried using the syringe and pump the med into Darrius mouth… I think about half was spitted out… *sigh*
We went home and I tried to feed Darrius some milk before I let him take his nap. For the first time after so many weeks, he refused to take his milk! It took him a while to finally doze off but woke up in less than 30 minutes! He was crying and whinning away… wanted to play with this and that but not getting up to get those toys and got very agitated when we can’t figure out what he wanted… Then that lil fella said wanna go ‘kai-kai, walk-walk’! eeerrr…. can’t walk still wanna go kai-kai, walk-walk??? *slap forehead*
PiggyBeng was quite fed-up listening to Darrius’s cry so decided to go out… after finding that Darrius’s fever has subsided. (on hind side, I should have administer the suppository myself but was too worried if I can do it myself without the doctor’s instructions) Oh well, we went to have dinner and off we went to the new Tesco extra at Sungai Dua…
Darrius was so happy and was walking about like nothing has happened… no more leg pain (the swell was still there but I think after taking the oral med, it seemed to have relieved the pain). Still he refused to have his milk. It could be that he do not like the taste of this new milk powder which we just got for him to try…
There goes my plans for sand castles building on the beach this weekend… hope the lil fella will go back to his normal self tomorrow…. *fingers crossed*

Ps: So confirmed the fever was due to the 18th mth jab?
Yeah, not easy to fed med to kids these days… they are just too smart!
Well, acording to paed, it was the jab… so far Darrius is ok after the suppository
given by the paed.
the 18 months jab so bad one meh, swelling leg and high fever, some more.
Hopefully, by this time, Darrius is getting better already. And get well soon.
He is fine now… guess it was how his body react to the jab…
