A Chaotic Weekend…
Since this boy was soooooo in lurved with kah-kuk, we decided to bring him for a short spin (to nearby Jusco) when my dad came home in the evening. We arrived home about 10+pm and quickly I tried tucking Darrius in for bed. His little body was unusually warm but I told my mom that hopefully it will subside by the morning as we were invited by a friend of mine to visit her new home…. and I was soooo looking forward to the gathering.
I woke up around 4am and could felt Darrius body so warn that I began to worry as I do not have any paracetamol with me (forgot to bring those back from Penang). So I tried to get a cold towel and put on his forehead but the little fella refused and made a fuss but I managed to coax him to drink some water. He falls back to sleep shortly. Then around 6ish, I woke up again and Darrius’s fever has not subsided so I was getting really worried. I quickly put some ice into the bowl of water so I can soak the towel in it and put it on Darrius forehead in the hope to bring his fever down. Darrius felt the extra cold towel on his forehead and fussed again but he allowed me to put it there for a while longer…
Around 8ish, Darrius woke up and I could feel the fever is still there and it pained my heart. Dad said we should bring him to the doctor soon as mom was worried the fever will damage Darrius’s brain (my mom was exagerating a bit lar as she’s quite paranoid about fever). Then I was quite sad as I have to call my friend to cancel our appointment. No choice lar since Darrius is not feeling well…. We were actually intending to throw a birthday surprise to another friend so I was lagi sad as I was the one who purchased the cake!
Was supposed to bake but due to time constrain and short notice, I have to buy but I promise this friend that I will bake one specially for her next time! ;)
So, off we went to the doctor nearby my parents’ place. This was our first time going to this clinic as the GP in the clinic at we used to go to won’t be on duty till afternoon. This is a ‘one-leg-kick’ kinda clinic where the doctor herself do everything! According to my dad, she only do regular customers’ business. Darrius was diagnosed with throat infection (again!) so he was given antibiotic with fever med to bring down the fever. I asked for Voltren too just incase his fever comes back again…. knowing Darrius don’t like oral medication.
After the doctor’s consultation, fed Darrius the med and we went to have breakfast… was damn hungry lioa. Then finally Darrius fever subsided so persuaded my dad to drop us off to my friend’s place. As we were dressed too casual, decided to go back home to change. When we were about to reach home, Darrius complaint he wanted to ‘poo’! So, I quickly go get the potty for him once we stepped into the house. While I was trying to undress him, he suddenly puke! Aaarrrggghhh! Then have to clean up lar!
At almost noon, we get out of the house and head to my friend’s place. Finally arrived around 1pm… after all the wrong turnings! We had lunch and chatted for a while before blowing the candles…. We left around 3pm and dropped by Tesco at Puchong to buy milk for Darrius.
Later in the evening, we went to Kajang for one of mom’s friend’s wedding. It was a Malay wedding. This is one of the grandest Malay wedding I’ve ever been to and 1st one which took place at night too! It was set in a field at the groom’s place with many tentages. The ‘kenduri’ is to serve at least 1000 guests! There were only 4 buffet lines so when the mealtime started… the beelines at the buffet tables were so long! Then just 3 mins later the whole place went ‘pooped’! The lights went off! I was busy scooping the curry prawns… and everybody went berserk while trying to dish everything from those trays! Ended up, I managed to get only prawns heads!
We left slightly after 9pm. Quickly tuck Darrius into bed as we have a long day ahead on Sunday… A makan trip up north! Will blog separately about it…

Speedy recovery to Darrius..! if chloe was ill.. we never bring her out.. coz’ she is hard to handle.. when she is ill.
my parents also always say that about fever…they really scared the brains get fried…always ask me to take them see doctor.
Hope Darrius is better by now
Take care, ya..
Fever is always worrisome for parents. I hate it.
just a 2cents note: best not to use ice cube with water to sponge as it is too cold(children do not like it and it is not good as hot mix with cold). Wetting the towel on normal tap water is sufficient and just keep doing it.
Oh poor Darrius. Hope he’s better now…
i used the ‘fever kooler’ patch…easy to bring…
