On the Road again….

After the hellish incident, I have vowed to get back on the road again… for Darrius sake! I really hate myself for not being able to move the wheels even I have a valid driver licence. I was so lack with confidence, that I never try to drive at all after my marriage to PiggyBeng (worst still, PB wanted me to drive his beloved manual car!).

When I first started out, I was driving my aunt’s little 4-wheel drive and it was easy. The memory was still very fresh mah as I just got my licence then. Then, when I finally returned to Malaysia, I was driving my dad’s auto car and I never have much opportunity to drive any manual car since then.

With the way of traffic conditions here… especially in Penang, it really scared the shit out of me! People just cut into your lane, honk you when you were just trying to be careful, snare at you when you are trying to get into your rightful lane and a whole lot more! Then there are these super narrow lanes where you will have to try your best to drive trhough without scratching your own car or those being parked there. Not to mentioned those skinny lanes where there are actually 2 way traffic!

Since now I’m at my parents’ place, my mom can help me with caring for Darrius so I am able to get a few lessons as a refresher course from a local driving instructor. And I’m proud to say, I still have quite a good grip with the manual function even after such a long time! So, just after 2 lessons, the instructor passed me! :)

I think what I lack is the inner confidence! Now, all I need will be more opportunities on the wheels and practice… manual or auto. Practice make perfect mah!

Hopefully I can drive you around when you visit Penang!!!!!

Driving a manual car puts you in a much better control position, I feel. I have not driven a manual car for about 1.5 years now, and I do agree that going auto kind of rubs off on you.
You become more complacent and lazy.

But good for you that you took a refresher course! Just remember to put Darrius in a car seat when you drive him around!

Oh and I forgot to mention: You just got tagged.
