Bedtime toys story

This is a delayed post….

This is Darrius’s favourite toy before bedtime… a pressie from youngest Grandaunt GL who doted on Darrius and never fail to bring him goodies each time she visits.

 [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x39sGqx8cls]

When we first let him play with this shapes puzzle box, all he does was chew on each of the shape blocks! Now he can even name some of them! (try listen to him when he picks up the different shapes in the video)

Then about a month ago, PiggyBeng trained the lil’ monster to master the skill in recognising all the shapes and slot them in into all the correct holes before tucking him in every night. Now, the lil’ monster is hooked and will ask for it every time he goes into the room! (this video was flimed in the study area)

There are a total of 10 different shapes and he has no problem putting them into the correct holes but there are 4 shapes which he will tend to leave behind most of the time… the hexagon, pentagon, cone (triangle but with a semi-circle on top) and trapezium. His favourite is the round and ellipse shape which he will slot in first. When almost all are in he will request to have those slotted into the box earlier to be taken out by saying “ar-wa, ar-wa” meaning ‘I want, I want’. He can play this over and over and over again!

When I went to check out in the toys shop, I realised this toy it meant for kids 2 years and above! Now, I’m so proud of my lil’ monster… :P

OMG! He is a boy genius! For his age la. My Belle can’t even tell a square from a triangle. The problem must be either us (damn lazy parents) or her.

I’m sure Belle could do it too if you try playing with her for a few nights… hhehee

so smart … already know most of the shapes. he will soon master the other 4 shapes as well.
that is the tuperware shapes toy ball. my sister/brother used to have one of those too ~ more than 25 years ago that was.

Hey, Darrius is soooo smart. Ashley got a similar toy but she gets very impatient trying to slot them in *sigh* Must have inherited that from mommy.

hahhaa! Darrius was impatient b4 but since we dont keep a lot of toys in the room so he has no choice but learn to play with what is available… hehhee

Bravo! That’s a smart chap you got there ;) – playing with a 2-years+ toy!
My Mom recently bought one for Ethan too (from Kah-kut), but I’ve not opened it yet.

You should open up for Ethan to play mah!

Smart boy! I bought one similiar toy for Anne last week. See how long she needs to master the skill. Now, she will shout out loud if she failed to insert any shape!

Hahha… Anne is getting there! If she shouts means she’s keen to be a pro!

It feels good, isnt it, when your little one can do stuffs? Ashley has a few shape sorters for her birthday too, but she likes the Fisher Price one best. Prob cos the shapes are more comfortably fit into her little hand. I think Darrius is such a patient little darling. My Ashley normally abandon the game after sorting out about 6 shapes in favour for the tv

Haha… I think Darrius will do the same if we switch on the TV for him. Darrius is never a patient guy… he’s just like his daddy… super impatient and quick temper too!
