Little Reader @ Borders

Last Thursday was a public holiday for folks in Ipoh as it was the Perak Sultan’s birthday. Coincidentally, it was also my cousin’s birthday so he took leave (as he’s working in KL) and came up with his family for a day trip to Penang.

They arrived around 11.45am so brought them out for lunch at the nearby hawker centre as they wanted to savour some local delights. Then brought them to buy some ‘pheah’ (local biscuits) for gifts to friends at Air Itam before proceeding to Queensbay Mall. The whole idea of the trip is to eat and shop! :P

When we arrived at Queensbay Mall, I showed them around and later we split up as I need to feed Darrius his lunch at the food court. Then I brought him around the mall before ending up at Borders. Since it was a workday, it was rather quiet and we had the entire  children section to ourselves! I let him out of the stroller and gave him some books…

Not too long later, he abandoned the books and was doing this….

At about 4pm, we meet up and went for tea break at Wong Kok Char Chan Teng at Basement. I had the beef brisket noodles which tasted quite good. Then we parted at around 5pm as they wanted to avoid the jam at Penang Bridge.

Called PiggyBeng to pick us up at the entrance but he ended up in the mall instead! So we continued shopping until 8pm! Keng leh! :P

darius seemed to enjoy the running and climbing up the stairs more than reading the books. it is fun when there are not too many ppl, like you said, you had the children area all for yourselves. you both went out for more than 8 hours, 12pm to 8pm? must be tired after arrived back home.

He can’t really read yet, only likes to see the pictures and if there’s a button or something stick out from the books he will be very bz with it!
