jit?
Wanted to blog about this last night but I was too tired to stayed up late.
Last evening, around 6pm, while I was watching TV after dinner (oh yea, had dinner around 5, super early) Darrius came to me. He just woke up not long ago from his nap so I have yet to feed him his dinner.
This is the little conversation we had:
Me: Boi, are you hungry yet?
Darrius: Murk-murk (asking for breastfeed)
Me: It’s going to be dinner time, mommy give you porridge ok?
Darrius: (think-think)
Me: You want porridge?
Darrius: jit??? (with a query look)
Me: Today don’t have jit boi, only meat, potato and vege
Darrius: jit?
Me: Mommy cook jit for you tomorrow ok? Today you eat meat first ok?
Darrius: (think-think then walked off to the back of the house)
My boy is growing up… he has even started to question me back… I guess before long, we can have some real conversation together… 
*jit = fish

Eh, how did he end up saying “fish” as “jit”? So hilarious! Thot usually kids have difficulty pronouncing the “sh” part and would say “fih” instead…
My mind went into full imagination when I read both your conversation exchange, and I imagined your little Darrius scratching his head with his plump little fingers while trying to make up his mind (think, think, think)… your Darrius is so cute lah! Hahahhaah!
aiyoh, this boy of mine always has his own interpretation on words… we tried to teach him to say correctly but he always refused and stick with his own words so sometimes I just play along with him. He still don’t know how to scrath head yet ah… but would be cute to see him doing that one day!
so cute the conversation that took place. wah darius now know how to place order on what he wants. do you cook porridge for him daily?
hahah! yeah… he knows how to ‘place’ order lioa… headache for me soon I guess!
I cook everyday as my mom said can’t let little kids eat over night food…. so I have to be hard working lor…

I also have no idea if he can differentiate between the meat and fish but everytime he chew on something he will have this inquisitive look and point to his mouth and say ‘that?’…. so I will tell him what I gave him.

He don’t shout NO but he just screamed and we can all go deaf for a few seconds!
