A little conversation
Well, the passed weeks we have been working pretty hard for a little piggy *wink* and so far there’s still no sign yet if any piggies will be joining our little family.
As Darrius is still quite possessive with his ‘things’, PiggyBeng was a little worried… that ‘what if’ a little piggy will be part of us soon. We are cracking our heads to try to teach Darrius to share… and to tell him that he can’t possibly dominate mommy’s and daddy’s attention forever…. We knew this is rather insane… trying to teach a 15-month old toddler to understand this but somehow we must set things right so the amount of jealousy and rivalry will be limited… hopefully!
Tonight, while watching Grey’s Anatomy (happened the story was about this preggy mommy was involved in an accident and the doctors has to do an emergency C-Sect on her) and Darrius was playing next to me. Out of the blue he demanded for his milk feed (breastfeed), I tried to divert his attention (gave him half a slice of cheese with plenty of water earlier so he can’t be hungry but more like he needed some comfort sucking) and it triggered me to asked him the questions playfully….
Me: Boy, look! Can you see the baby..
Darrius: (Turned his head and looked at the TV) Bee-be
Me: Baby so small hor?
Darrius: (Continued looking at the TV)
Me: Boy, do you want mommy to give you a baby?
Darrius: (Turned his head and looked at mommy and shaked his head)
Me: Baby small small cute cute mah… you don’t like?
Darrius: (Shaked his head again)
Me: Baby can play with you wor… you don’t want?
Darrius: (Wriggled, shaked his head and walked away)
Hmm… seemed like he understood me wor….
It’s quite fun now as we can engage in simple conversations and I can see his reactions. Kids are naive at this stage so their answers are quite true to their limited understanding… I guessed…

Quick quick, “jia you” and work harder
Dont worry about Darrius, it’s just a phase. Last time when I asked WH if he wanted a baby, he would cry and shake his head and insist he’s the baby. Now that at 2 yrs plus, when I asked again if he wants a baby, he nodded and proudly call himself kor kor. JS also accepted WH quite well along the way, though at the beginning she shown a lot of insecurity.
Dont worry about Darrius la. His ‘kor-kor’ nature will come in when he sees the little piggy meimei/ti-ti.

cute conversation you have with darius. he sure understands. i can’t wait for my turn to be able to conversse with my boy. now he is still blur when we talk to him. he only knows “ah ah”. still doesn’t know nodding or shaking head yet. btw, good luck on your “BIG PLAN”.
