I was so caught up with all the memes that I have to sideline Darrius’s growth development reporting.
So fast, another month has passes us by and our little boy has grew before our very eyes. He’s no longer a baby as he can walk more steadily now as compared to a month back but he still have that drunkard style! Since he still wobble around most of the time, I tried holding him when we brought him out to let him walk unless it’s a big and empty space, then we will let him walk by himself.
These days, he won’t want to be seated too long and he will starts to asked for ‘walk-walk’. It’s so cute to see him going about the house sometimes but that also another worries for us as he can just get himself knocked at all the phohibited areas! He likes to play with the shoes cabinet’s door and got his fingers ‘kiap’ (pegged) at the door a few times but that still did not deterred him from playing there! *sigh*
The biggest milestone for the past one month will be his speech abilities. This little kay-poh-chi just loves to yak and yak and yak! Most of the time he’s in his own world blabbering away with words or sentences that we can’t make sense of! Funny thing is, he has started to speak 2 syllabus words even when he still can’t get the 1 syllabus word sometimes… We taught him ‘fan’ since birth and till today he still can’t utter that word… it really puzzled us.
Now he can engage in simple conversations with us and it is such great joy to see that he does understand what we are trying to tell him or asked him. He can give us responses either by shaking his head for ‘no’ or looked bewildered for ‘yes’ as he still don’t know how to nod his head yet.
Whenever he heard us saying ‘go’ he will quickly says ‘kah-kuk’! kah-kuk is his version of Tesco, the hypermarket that we frequent ever week.
Darrius’s newest vocabs:

nana - Banana
shoon - Spoon

bug - Bugs
ti - Aunty
Recently he loves repeating the words ‘no-more’. When he sees his porridge finished he will say ‘no-more’ or when we asked him where is so and so he will say ‘no-more’ as they are not visible to him anymore.
When he is watching his kiddy songs programmes, he will try to sing along during those parts he knew. Sometimes he will add in some actions too like what the image on the screen is showing, eg: clap hands, shake/swing both hands or do a turn.
When I sing the following, he will make the add on sounds or do the action:
Me: Popeye the sailor man
Darrius: Pon pon!
——————————–
Me: if you happy and you know you clap your hands
Darrius: (clap his hands)
Me: If you happy and you know you stomp your feet
Darrius: (shake his legs if he’s sitting and stomp his feet if he’s standing)
Me: If you happy and you know you pull your ears
Darrius: pull-pull (with both hands pulling his ears)
———————————–
Me: How much is the doggy in the window?
Darrius: Ooohhp!
————————————
His observation skills has improved a lot too. Now when he sees me folding cloths, he can recognised who it belongs to. When I’m folding PiggyBeng’s shirt, he will shout ‘dad-di’ very loudly. And when he sees my MIL’s cloths, he will shout ‘Ah-mah’ excitedly… sometimes shaking his legs too if he was seated on his high chair.
If we told him who is who and after a while we asked him who is who, he will be able to point the person correctly.
Bad habits
It irritates me a lot as Darrius loves to poke our eyes or his own eyes! Don’t know why he is so fascinated with the eyes!
He also loves to knock his head over us when he’s playing on the bed with us. Besides he’s getting the blueblacks, we are not spared as well! He almost broke my nose yesterday!
Very stubborn too. Sometimes when he wants something and was not given he will scream, shout and bang the table.
Know how to show his unhappiness or throw tandrums - been a few times he has got down to the floor and lie there banging on the floor with his fists when I refused to let him have some of the toys. I dreaded the day when he will do that break-dance stint when we’re out shopping once we refused to let him has his way!
Will want to get down from his high chair when I’m feeding him half way.
Diet
His diet of porridge still very much the same as his teeth is still stuck at 8 at this moment. Not sure why his teeth are growing at such a sloooooooooow pace. I do feed him other food when we eat out but I tried not to let him take outside food too much so I will bring his cereal along if we do go out in between his meal times.
I’m trying to wean him off from my breasts too but not much success. So far he’s fine with no nursing during the day or even before his bed time at night but he will cry for it in the middle of the night. This actually will hamper my hope to conceive…. *sob*
Now I’m giving him boxed full cream milk as supplement as I think my milk production has slowed down tremendously the past few weeks. So far he’s liking it as compared to milk powder.
Instead of 3 meals a day, Darrius has 4! We need to feed him supper before we tuck him in as he gets hungry real fast. Normally I will give him milk with cereal or Nestum which can keep him for another 3 hours or so. He will cry for milk (breastmilk) around 3 or 4am and 6 or 7am without fail!
Love for the books
I’m happy that Darrius has a strong desire to learn. He will ask for his books everytime I seat him down in his highchair. He will point to the pictures and give me a query look and will wait for me to tell or read to him what is in the page or pictures he is pointing at. If I do ignore him, he will non-stop bugging me and repeat ‘that-that-that’ until I respond to him.
That’s all for now… probably will try to slot in some of the weird things he do in separate posts the next time.
