Blog Tergendala

Published by Angeleyes under Rants

OK, I really hate that this has to happen when I have so much postings sitting in my folder ready to be posted (less the photos and links) and I can’t do anything!!!!!

Well, for normal posts without photos, videos or links are fine but most of my posts are either come with photos, videos or links! You say frust or not???

I have been trying to post one post which was ready since Sunday night but can’t get the links and photos up! Has been trying for the past 2 days but the problem is still not resolved even after I have reported the problems to the WP support forum. Since I have not much idea using the traditional html code ways, there’s no way I can complete the post. So pathetic! :(
Another problem is my IE also a bit screwed up since the day I went to pester PiggyBeng to inrease my cache size a few nights back (could this be the culprit?). There are quite a number of pages that can’t be loaded or if they did, it will die a natural death with a Not Responding status. Wondering if I have let some malicious horses came in while I went lurking around other peoples’ blogs the past nights….

So, my dear readers and kawan-kawan, I apologies for not updating much.

p/s: If you don’t see me commenting on your posts, that does not mean I did not drop by coz stewpit blogspot’s comment box always hung on me! Big time frus! :(  *sob*

Tagged again! My 5 Fav M’sian Bloggers

Published by Angeleyes under Memes

Aiyah… the tagging bugs are definitely multiplying! 7 early, 8 early (ok… since I’m not working 11am is still consider early.. hehe) I switched on my PC and found shooi tagged me lioa…. and while I was trying to see who to target, I found that Montessorimum tagged me too! :P
So, who are my favourite M’sian bloggers? I did scratched my head for a while as I read mostly international blogs more (especially my makan bloggies links) but there are still a few which I frequent when I do blog hop around…. here goes….

1. NyonyaPenang - Nyonya is a witty and entertaining blogger and her jokes always sent me laughing. Nyonya has seas and mountains of admirers from around the globe so if you are craving for some rojak or laksa or even hokkien mee jokes… must stop by Nyonya’s house!

2. MichaelOoi.com - Another daily dose of *R,Y,B,X* rated read… entertaining and lots of powderful used of the English language… He might sounds a little cocky in his blog but he has a soft spot for his little princess, Regine… a pretty little girl who looks like her daddy!

3. SuYin - Young, pretty and a fantastic cook and baker… I got lots of inspiration from her (she’s studying in Ozland though). And since I aspire to be a baker someday I learned loads from her blog…. so if you need some creative ideas to fix your plain looking cakes or cookies… hop over to her blog!

4. FatBoy Recipes - Just discovered this blog… also a very hilarious blogger who muses about his baking’s adventures….

5. All the Mommies & Daddies Blogs (check my links!) - It’s so nice to read about their ups and downs being parents and also their rants, muses and discoveries on their little ones….

There you go…..

So, who am I going to tag this time leh……. the lucky ones are……

1. Jazzmint - hope you’re done with your holiday posts!

2. Whoisbaby - Get some free traffic eh? :)

3. Hui Sia - Hope you still have Internet connection till you pass on this meme!

4. KittyCat - You can do this after Lucas’s big day!

5. Tracy - Take a break from doing Destinee’s homework and do this! :P

Cepat! cepat! Get it done hor!

I’m too sExY for yOuR….

Published by Angeleyes under Weekends, Juz Darrius

It has been a long time since we brought Darrius for a swim. Since SIL’s kids are back, so we thought of bringing the kids to have some water fun… Innitially we have wanted to go to PiggyBeng’s uncle’s condo at N’Park but the pool was closed so we went to his aunt’s place instead which was just a block away at Sunny Vale about 2 weeks back.

As it was a late Friday afternoon , there were not many people around and the skies was rather gloomy that day.  Well, so much better as we can have the entire pool area for ourselves. SIL kids was very excited as they have not been to the pool for a long time too since the weather in Germany is quite cold for such an activity.

After we have changed him, he wanted to move away from the table so I made him stand and this is what he did….

 [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xZtTDbH8wg]

He looked so cute so I quickly asked PiggyBeng to capture Darrius’s little antics and I was glad we did… it was so hilarious seeing him doing the Saturday-Night-Fever dance but also looked like a pole dancing to the rendition of ‘I’m too sexy for your love’…

Finally Darrius can sit facing the stearing wheel which was a little too high for him a couple of months back. We even tried putting his legs up and let him float… he was a little scare innitially but tried to wriggle out after a while.

My Little Richard Clayderman

Published by Angeleyes under Juz Darrius

Not sure if Darrius really likes playing the piano or he just loves the sounds he can make everytime he punch on the keyboard. We have been comtemplating to get him a mini keyboard ever since he showed some interest in pretending to play the piano about 2 months back but we found them too light and this little caveman will just bang the poor keyboard hard on the floor!

Well, as a kiasu mommy, I can’t deprive my little musician of his new found talent so I decided to let him have the real thing! :P

piano1.jpg

Look at his playing style…. like a real pro hor?

piano2.jpg

He even knows how to spread his fingers wor….

This silly mommy is hoping her little kaypoh-chi will turn out to be a professional pianist one day, just like her O-siang (idol) Richard Clayderman…

p/s: I’m not so ting-tang (crazy) to buy a real piano lah…. belong to my SIL…. :P

Ready for ABC

Published by Angeleyes under Milestone, Juz Darrius

One day (about a month back) while I was busy blogging away, Darrius who was seated next to me made hell of a noise. So to distract him I threw him some brochures (Christmas brochures from Cold Storage) I found on one corner of the table and continue with my blogging until I heard this:

Mummm-mummmm-mummmm

I look over at Darrius and he kept pointing at those pictures of food in the brohures. Excited, I flipped the brochure over and pointed at several pictures of food and he continue saying ‘mummm-mummm-mummm’. Then remembering he once knew how an apple look like so I pointed at the apples and he said “perr” his version of apple. :) So, from then onwards, I will constantly pass him those brochures and let him flip… surprisingly he stopped chewing them too! (He used to chew on anything I gave him)

Being a first time mom, I have no expectation on how soon my child can starts his first ABC but knowing my little cheeky boy can learn quite fast, I was so super kiasu (afraid to lose) and went about buying his first set of pictorial books when he was just 6-month old! Was having this hope that my boy can be a genius lar… :P I found that he’s more of a kay-poh (nossy) than a genius… hahahaha

So this is what I bought for him then….

book1.JPG

After that day’s episode, the more I wanted to get more books for him to test his abilities and I found these during one of my shopping outing at one of the shopping complex here:

book2.JPG

See… English wordings with Chinese wordings some more! Kiasu or not???? hehehehehe Darrius loves these books and since it’s quite light he can flip-flip and point-point. He can recognise some of the pictures pretty well, so even though there are some he is still not able to read out yet but he knew what they are and will go “eehhh-eehhh” I’m pretty proud that he has improved so much over his vocabulary in such a short time… besides able to call some of us he can even say out a few words, loud and clear! (Will update on his 14-month post)

Anyway, I guess it’s good if I can instil the love to read in Darrius at an early age but will not be over pushy, will rather just let him learn on his own pace….

Yesterday was my Ah Mah’s (grandmother) birthday. We celebrated at this restaurant near Gurney called the Maple Gold Leaf. It was this big-big bungalow house… according to mommy, the deco is not so impressive… and daddy said it is more like a club but we did not venture out as we were late and everyone was very hungry so we quickly settle down and dinner were served…. I was a clever boy, finished 3/4 bowl of shark fins, 2 scallops and some vege with noodles all by myself!

darriusnahmah.JPG

Here is my Ah Mah and me…. (I was busy looking at Ah Mah’s cake on the table that was why I did not look at the camera…)

This is Ah Mah’s cake baked by my mommy… it’s a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting… daddy said it tasted really good coz daddy loves carrot cake… :P
It was mommy’s first attempt at baking carrot cake and frosting it too… not bad huh? :) Mommy was having so much fun playing with all her icing tips that she almost neglects me… :P

I must confess that having this blog has changed my life so much besides giving me a place to brag about my little monster or myself occasionally, I’ve also found new friends, rediscovered my passion and sharing it (my cooking blog) and a chance to explore new skies of opportunities*wink*.

Well, hope I will get to my 200th and 1000th post some day…

Burger Oh Burger!

Published by Angeleyes under Family Vacations, Makan Time!

I have wanted to post about this long time ago when I returned from LA but with so many back-dated posts (there are still quite a few of back-log) and the lousy connection as I can’t get into Flickr, the post has waited till now.

This post is nothing but BURGERS! Yes! Yes! The all American food… Burgers and Colas! I have planned to savour as many fastfood joints’ burgers as my stomach can take during our LA trip. I don’t normally eat burger here (Malaysia) except Burger King’s Whopper, as I find the rest of the burgers sold here are basically… unedible! :P Some of the meat are so dry they tasted like tree bark!

During the trip, I managed to try Jack In the Box, In-N-Out, Burger King, Carl’s Jr. and McDonalds. The best among the lot is In-N-Out. Their burgers are sooooo juicy with the melting cheddar cheese, juicy tomato slice and generous loads of lettuce. Instead of the normal mayo spread, they have Thousand Island so it was double yum! Their fries are…. THE BEST I’ve ever tasted!

Why the name In-N-Out? It was said that all their ingredients are not frozen and all freshly prepared in the restaurant. We saw them skinned and cut the potatoes at the kitchen behind the counter. The best part is, they only have menu for 3 types of burgers and yet every outlet we went are always full and with long Qs! Not forgetting to mention on their ‘Secret Menu’ where their burgers are made to order… too bad we did not realised until we were home but saw some diners having them and we were so puzzled as we did not see those on the menu board! We had a total of 5 meals for the entire trip which not counting the other burger joints!

One thing we noted about In & Out is their interior design. When you enter to each restaurant, everything look the same. The counter, the seating, the drinks counter… in fact it was as if we came in before but it was a different outlet! Cool yeah?

Next was Jack in the Box. Actually I thought they were related to BK as they have the same corporate colours but they were not. Their burgers are not too bad. Forgot to take any photos as we were too hungry and gobbled down the burgers quickly with a screaming Darrius at our side. :P

The curious me went to try Burger King too as I wanted to taste if all the Whoppers are the same. Well, almost I guess. The outlet we went was a bit quiet but was near our hotel (we stayed at Radisson LAX) so kind of convenient to walk there…

Then we also tried the McDonalds’s Ribs burger when we were in Las Vegas. Silly me thought that it was the ‘actual’ ribs but I was wrong! It was a piece of meat that shaped like a ribs! :| Taste wise, so-so only. Sorry, no photos taken.

Lastly, we had Carl’s Jr. There used to be a few Carl’s Jr operating in KL but somehow they vanished after a few years. I always like charboiled grilled burgers as they are juicier. Taste wise… boleh tahan lah (passable).

After trying so many, still find that In & Out is better… taste, style and concept.  One that is truly American! According to PiggyBeng, he don’t sees them else where in the other states except California, Nevada and Arizona.

So, if you are visiting any of the 3 western states, don’t forget to drop by In-N-Out for a nice and affordable American burger meal. :)
