‘Boleh’ or ‘Tak Boleh’?
While I was going through some of my old photos I found this shot taken by PiggyBeng last year… It was the stretch along the coast next to Bayan Lepas industrial area.
Can you see the red sign? It says ‘Dilarang Menjaja’ or ‘No Hawker’ along that area but look at the mobile murtabak van and all the busy customers bustling there…
In fact, there are more hawkers around that stretch and it is usually overly crowded in the evening and especially during weekends.
So, do these folks simply don’t understand the sign? Can’t read the sign? Did not notice the sign?
Or they just love to defy order given by the authority? And the best part is, why the authority is not doing anything about this??? ‘Boleh’ or ‘Tak Boleh’?

Aren’t rules made to be broken?
Same thing happens here. I try and make a point not to buy from people that do not follow rules. Money influneces these folk. And they must get business or they would go somewhere else.
Haha…the sign just stated for fun and revealed the darkside of the authorities.
Aiya normal la, have u seen the Dilarang Membuang Sampah signages? Right below there will be a pile of rubbish hokay!
hehe..you know ler, if so n so menjaja there, they will catch, but if so n so menjaja they close one eye one..talk bout equality huh
Malaysia apa pub boleh ma..
Malaysia apa pun boleh ma..
i’m sure you’ve seen rubbish strewn right under a ‘DILARANG MEMBUANG SAMPAH’ sign, right?
i guess, it’s kinda fun going against the grain.
I agree with Jazzmint above – quite right! And quite fed up with this too esp now…
