Preview - Disneyland, LA

Published by Angeleyes under Family Vacations

We went to Disneyland yesterday and guess what time we started our journey? We woke up at 3.30am and was at the airport shuttle pickup by 4.45am! We arrived at Disneyland just slightly after 7am. We thought we were early but there were folks who were even earlier! Below is a shot taken at the Metro (train) station at 5am in the morning… It was oh sooooo cold ah!

The entire journey took us almost 2 hours with all the wait from bus-train-bus. Disneyland is really far from our hotel.

Look at my little prince… this shot was taken at the Fantasyland where they have a stage for performances as well as a food outlet. They gave out crowns to kids and also provides colouring sheets with crayons so the kids can do some colouring while having their meals. Darrius only grabed all the papers and started crumbling them!

Ah… finally a shot with one of the Disney’s character… Pluto the dog. Darrius was happy to meet Pluto but he was so frighten when we met Mickey and he cried so loudly when we were trying to snap a pic with Mickey! :( We did not take that many photos also as I was locked in Qs most of the time for the rides. Even with the Fast Pass we still need to wait… so PiggyBeng sacrificed some of the rides so I can take them as he has taken some of it before during his last visit. There were just too many people there!

The place was so crowded last night as it was the Holloween Week. On Friday to Sunday they have night parade as well as fireworks but we did not stay for that as it was too late for us… need 2 hours to get back to the hotel mah! :|

We Survived the 15 Hours Flight!

Published by Angeleyes under Escapé

Finally we have landed in LA late last evening!

The entire flight was ok but was dissapointed to find out that we could not get the seat with the bassinet point as this particular flight (executive economy) has only 2 bassinet points. So we ended up putting Darrius on a seat. Luckily he was alright though he did not get to sleep too much. He did made some fuss during the flight but luckily it was bearable… :P
I did not managed to catch much sleep and I’m posting here at 5.30am! PiggyBeng brought Darrius out for a walk within the hotel while I munch on some bread… don’t know why felt damn hungry! The air is dry too and I have been drinking lots of water!

We intend to go out for shopping today and probably go to Universal Studio tomorrow. The weather is a little chilly and the sky was quite gloomy so we hope the weather will improve during our sight seeing sessions.

Will try to put up more posting if I can find the time. After all, we have FOC internet here. :D

Darrius is down with throat infection

Published by Angeleyes under Juz Darrius

*sigh* Why so like that????

Yesterday Darrius was rather quiet when I brought him out for lunch and a little shopping with MIL… which is rather unusual as he always very active… climbing here and there.

I felt his forehead a couple of times and it was rather warm as compared to other times (me not an expert but just some motherly instinct that her baby is sick). So when we reached home I gave him a bath and fed him. Told PiggyBeng about it but he was not so sure initially but an hour later he came and told me that Darrius’s body was warmer than usual. We actually got our GP to prescribe some medicine for Darrius for our inpending US trip so I quickly gave him the fever medicine and hope his temperature will go back to normal.

He was still very playful the entire night but started to be cranky at the later part when he was on Skype with his gong-gong (my dad). So we quickly prepared him for bed and I breastfeed him but unlike normal nights he was more cranky and cried many times. I did suspect that his teething could be the culprit but when I brought him to our doctor this morning, he was dignosed with throat infection and luckily his fever has subsided.

I gave him some breakfast and fed him his medicine and now he’s in la-la land…. Just keeping my fingers crossed that he will recover by end of the day as we will be leaving for our vacation tomorrow…. :|

Halloween in LA

Published by Angeleyes under Family Vacations

31st of October is Holloween and during that day we will be in LA. This will be Darrius’s first Holloween and since we are in LA, I was quite tempted to get him a costume so he could go for ‘trick or treat’ around the hotel… guess that must be a fun thing to do! :P He will be so thrilled to go about knocking on peoples’ doors and giving his ‘duh’ kinda look… hehe

Any suggestions for costume??? Thought of just give him a white cloth, cut 2 little holes for his eyes and cover his entire body… like a Little Casper… hehee

Or, maybe I put those masks for him???

PiggyBeng said I sot-sot but this is a once-in-a-life-time kinda thing mah… how often we get a chance to be in LA for Holloween right??

Darrius @ his twins cousins’ Birthday party

Published by Angeleyes under My Prince

Last Saturday Darrius attended his twins cousins birthday party over in Butterworth. The party was held in a vegetarian restaurant… can’t remember the name but it was located in the jungle! Well, not the actual jungle but the road that lead to it was really a huge bush patch and segregated the whole block of shops from the other part of Taman Chai Leng. There wasn’t a single sign board or road sign so we went round and round for almost half hour just to get there… that also PiggyBeng’s uncle came and guide us after our last attempt as we almost gave up and wanted to go home instead. Luckily PiggyBeng did not follow us or else he will sure curse and swear. Darrius’s grandma drove us there together with an uncle and Darrius’s Ah Chor (greatgrandma).

The above was taken shortly after we arrived. I put on the party hat for him and his head is smaller than the hat so he’s feeling really uncomfortable.

Unlike his daddy, little Darrius is really a sociable guy… here he was so busy getting aquinted with his little cousin (one of the birthday boys). The twins, Denver and Dawson are identical twins and they really look alike.

Look at the little cheeky fellow with the mask on… Look so cute yet funny… :P He even clapped his hands when we asked him to.

Here is the birthday cake…. it’s chiffon with blueberry cream… quite tasty and not overly sweet but there are about 80 people sharing this small cake so each of us only have one spoonful…  The food are nothing fantastic so not worth mentioning… And the worst part was, the camera batteries went flat when they started to sing the birthday song! What a bummer!

Should I wean Darrius?

Published by Angeleyes under Juz Rambling

These past weeks has been tiring, besides going crazy with this blogging mania, Darrius has been cultivating a really bad habit… he needs my nen-nen to sleep! He can stay on my breasts for 2 hours for a single session! Everytime I tried to pull away he will whine then continue with a loud cry… which can be disturbing as PiggyBeng needs his 8-hour beauty sleep every night.

So, while we were driving back after dinner with PiggyBeng’s dad earlier (Darrius was nursing then and also dozed off), I asked PiggyBeng as to when I should be weaning Darrius from breastfeeding. The nurses from the hospital where I’m one of the member for their breastfeeding support group have told me to nurse Darrius till he is 2 yo but I doubt I can go on to that length. Below is the conversation between PiggyBeng and myself:

Me: See, boi-boi kau-kau (sleeping)  lioa…

PiggyBeng: He’s drinking milk ah?

Me: Yeah… he was cranky mah so nurse him sure guai-guai one. Now he must sleep with my breasts leh if not sure cry like crazy.

PiggyBeng: (Silent)

Me: So, when do you think I should wean him ah?

PiggyBeng: Aiya, I think by one you can wean him lioa… don’t have to nurse him for so long one. One year is more than enough lioa.

Me: Hmmm…..

PiggyBeng: It’s about time that daddy get nursed!

Me: huh?????

PiggyBeng: He has the boobs for a year lioa… so now is daddy’s turn!! Daddy is so deprived lioa leh!

Me: (LOL) Wahlau eh!

So, should I or should I not wean Darrius once he blow his 1st candle leh???? :|

Friday the 13th - Unlucky day???

Published by Angeleyes under Juz Rambling

While I was doing some postings over my cooking blog earlier it triggered me that today is atually Friday the 13th.

Actually this date/day is nothing significant but we always associate it with some horror movies so it sort of a day worth mentioning…

In the western countries, especially in the United States, some believed that this day is an unlucky day. Not sure if they are being superstitious or just coincident that this particular day do actually brought some misfortune. Some term it as folklore, urban legend, tradition and etc…

There were actually as many as 21 million people who suffered from Paraskevidekatriaphobia: Fear of Friday the 13th still exist today. I always thought that only the Chinese are superstitious…

p/s: okay…this is a lame post… run out of ideas so juz rambling… hope to get more Darrius’s pics in the next few days so can blog about him. :P

Shack the Window Baby!

Published by Angeleyes under Juz Rambling

Went through some of the old photos taken during our Europe honeymoon last year and among them I found this…. one of PiggyBeng’s favourite…. There was one with him standing next to the window but he barred me from posting it here so toooo bad… hehehe

sexshopinkoln.JPG

We found this shop along one of the streets in Koln (Cologne), Germany.  We were quite facinated by the way the Europeans display all these adult items as we will never ever have such window display in our Bolehland….

Can you see the heatpacks??? The one with the willy so cute hor???? LOL

Wanted to get PiggyBeng the Dollie but he refused to let me go into the shop… he said very paiseh…

And this actually reminded me about the SEXPO I went to when I was in Australia. It was an eye opening experience… something we don’t get to have in Bolehland…hehehe  Singapore has it once but I did not have a chance to go and have a peep so can’t compare. But I heard it was not up to standard as there were too much restrictions… Lion City is still as conservative as Bolehland but at least they did try to be more open about such ideas…

‘Boleh’ or ‘Tak Boleh’?

Published by Angeleyes under Bleh~

While I was going through some of my old photos I found this shot taken by PiggyBeng last year… It was the stretch along the coast next to Bayan Lepas industrial area.

Can you see the red sign? It says ‘Dilarang Menjaja’ or ‘No Hawker’ along that area but look at the mobile murtabak van and all the busy customers bustling there…

nohawker.JPG

In fact, there are more hawkers around that stretch and it is usually overly crowded in the evening and especially during weekends.

So, do these folks simply don’t understand the sign? Can’t read the sign? Did not notice the sign? Or they just love to defy order given by the authority? And the best part is, why the authority is not doing anything about this??? ‘Boleh’ or ‘Tak Boleh’?
