Money Back, No questions ask….
In a span of 3 weeks PiggyBeng has bought a total of 3 pants! This is rather unusual as he seldom shops for clothings… His excuse? I can’t find the colour that match my suit… (lame?… hahahaha) Well, he bought a suit (blazer + pants) for his graduation some 10 years ago and only the blazer still fitting but not the pants… (obvious right?) He wore it to two of his convocation ceremonies and skiped the last one so the total time he has the suit on is only two… totally under ultilise.
When we met some 5 years ago (wow! how time flies!) he was really slim… which he used to boast also lah!
Then he returned to Penang and started working. With all the travelling and home cooked food… it did not take long when his waistline also sort of ‘prosper’
In fact a few months ago, he already packed some of his jeans to give away and a few weeks back he realised some of his pants are giving way too! One of the day I joked that if he ever bend down his pants will burst! hahahaha
During our recent trip to KL, he managed to get two pairs but was dissapointed coz the colour is still not matching. Then one of the day while we were grocery shopping at Tesco Penang, he saw a pair with a rather close to what he was looking for so decided to bring his suit’s pants for a match.
Few days later we returned and he bought the pants. As it was too long so he asked for an alteration. Tesco provides Free alteration services.
However, while he was about to iron the pants yesterday, he realised there was a hole (accidentally cut hole) and was furious and started to curse and swear… which is nothing unusual…
Told him don’t be so mad. Just talk nicely and Tesco will sure exchange the pants for him. This is one good thing about big foreign hypermarkets that adopt the ‘Refund/Money Back without questions ask’ policy. True enough, there were no questions asked and Tesco offered to refund with another pair of pants. Of course PiggyBeng is happy lah…. He was extremely satisfied too…
I remembered once when I was in Sydney, I bought a pair of boots from K-Mart and found out a few days later that one of the soles came off. At that time I was ski-ing at Perisher Blue which was a few hundreds miles away so can’t send for an exchange immediately. I wore it for my entire trip (5 days) and went back to the shop for an exchange upon my return… they gave me a full refund!!! They told me if I wanted to have the similar pairs of shoes I can puchase again with the monies refunded and if I decided not to… I can go home without any other purchases… That was just so great!
This policy is so great but according to a friend of mine, there are people out there whom will abuse such policy. Some people actually purchased cloths or gadgets and used it for a period of time with the intention of returning them after a function or task is over and done. As most of the refund policy valid for 30 days… I’m not surprised that some bad eggs will take advantage of the good intention.
