The clock just strike 12. Like any good Malaysian, I must show my patriotism towards my country mah!
Merdeka!!!!
Merdeka is actually independence. This year we are celebrating the 49th years of independence from the British. Wow! Almost half a century! How time flies…. I’m not even born then!!!
However, some buggers are firing up some fire works here which can be a real nuisance as it kept waking my poor Darrius up…. so inconsiderate!
Basically it is a public holiday today but some unfortunate people especially those working at the shopping malls will have to work extra time coz the malls will be packed with shoppers! Well, SAHM like myself is not excluded… coz we still have to work ah!

Today seems to be our lucky day!
Since we will be going to the US, we need the extra cash…. of course… for shopping! As usual, PiggyBeng will always wants to recover all his expenditure… be it the parking fees or whatever we spent on before our trip. So, he has started buying Toto recently… not so recent actually….
so that he can recover all the money he spent…. our wedding, honeymoon, Darrius and all blah blah blah….
Today…. he finally strike! Aiyah…. not the Jackpot lah….. only 4 combinations…. hehe
Guess how much is that???? RM20 only ah! (Can’t even cover the BK lunch we had this afternoon at KLCC)
Anyway, at least he strike mah…. and he just told me he can’t sleep wor!

We finally got our visas this afternoon…. Hurrrrraaaayyyyyyy!!!!
The procedures are much simpler now as compared to the past. We are not required to start queueing at the entrance of the US Embassy early in the morning anymore. We can actually book our interview time slot through the internet and just be present at the entrance 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. This way is so much better as it can be a real hassle if you are bringing a baby/toddler with you. Another good news is that, we need not bring our kids (14 and below) for the interview…. I did not know this earlier or I won’t have to bring Darrius with me…. was lucky he was a good boy yesterday…
Once inside, we still need to get another Q-number. Interviews are still being done through the various counters in the consular service room. Staff are friendly too.
If your visa is approved, the interviewer will give you a green card and tell you to collect your passport the next day at the entrace of the embassy between 2-3 pm.
We are glad that they granted us the 10 years multiple entries visa.
So, here we come America!!!

I was watching the news on TV…I think it was last Tuesday and there was this segment where some Members of Parliment (MOP)were debating on the recent union between our dear Siti and Datuk K.
One of the MOP (can’t remember which area he was from)were commenting on Siti and Datuk K’s recent akad nikah (engagement) ceremony which was highly publicised by the media - “Am I right to say that this wedding between a young girl to a much older and married man is giving the impression that younger girls should look for older married men to get hitched? Someone like myself?” (these may not be the exact words but I remember vividly something like that was said). Can’t help laughing and giggling away upon his hillarious comments.
Prior to the ceremony, quite a numbers of media companies were fighting to get the rights to air the event… and more events in the next couple of weeks. I guess this whole thing is overly hyped… my personal opinion lah. I mean, what so big deal about the whole thing? Worst now, Siti is labelled as a husband snatcher.
I find that this event actually give quite a negative impact to other young girls in our country. Is like, this young and sweet (pretty, rich, talented) mega celebrity has no qualms or what-so-ever to be the 2nd wife of a Datuk though he is divorcé but is as old as her father! Siti can simply have any eligible (unmarried) bachelor but yet she decided to accept a man who is a father to four kids! And with the way the media hyped so much about it, the entire event seemed to over shadow even some of the royal weddings to date!
I am not a fan of Siti neither do I have any ill feeling toward her but her choice really not what I have expected so far.
Could this wedding leads to more of such unions in the future? Married Datuks’ seven years itch? Seventeen years itch or twenty seven years itch?? Hmmmmmm……. :-8

PiggyBeng went to make payment for our US visas last Friday. The moment he came through the door he was cursing and swearing…@#$%&*
PiggyBeng: Isn’t the exchange rate now is RM3.60??? How come they still charged me RM3.80????
Angeleyes: The website said RM380.00 mah… you never read meh?
PiggyBeng: Issit??? It wrote there US100 mah… see (he showed me the print out)
Angeleyes: It was somewhere in the FAQ that I read… it said RM380.
PiggyBeng: @#$%&*
Angeleyes: Aiyah…don’t be so angry lar… They can’t possibly follow the exchange rate everyday mah… they sure will capped it somewhere….
PiggyBeng is very sensitive when it comes to $$$…
We will be attending the interview next Monday at the US Embassy in KL. Hopefully we will be granted the visas… since the recent bomb threat incident, we were quite worried that our applications will be rejected.
PiggyBeng already has his so it is only for myself and Darrius. And since I’m a SAHM, they might not grant me a visa… worried I might jump plane and go wash dishes in US…hehheehee
Hope the people in the embassy will be nice to us… afterall we only want to go jam the warehouse sales in LA mah…

For those who dropped to my humble blog… a big “Thanks!” to you.
Probably you have been wondering why I do not post everyday or why so limited postings.
Darrius has been in a cranky mood recently as his teeth (2 on the upper gum) is sprouting out and he has been in an unpredictable mood the last couple of days. He don’t take his regular naps and meals like before. I have cut his regular meals from 3 times a day to just 1 meal as he refused to eat after 2 or 3 spoonful. Poor little fella. Just hope his appetite will resume soon or he will lose his chubbiness.
Also, I have been busy blog hopping too. Been reading up some other interesting blogs and added their links here so can visit again.
Will try to post more once Darrius’s is back to his normal cheerful self and throw less tantrums.

Time really flies… Today is Darrius’s 9-month old B’day.
There won’t be any celebration as he’s still too young to understand so I just post it here and hopefully one day he can read this post.

Happy B’day Darrius!

Just earlier on, while I placed him on the floor so he can crawl about, PiggyBeng dicided to test Darrius if he knows how to respond to his own names. He was playing with some toys while his back was facing his daddy.
PiggyBeng: ‘boi-boi’ (pet name)
Darrius turned around to look at his daddy. Then he turned back and continue playing with his toys.
PiggyBeng: ‘Darrius’
Darrius turned his head and look at his daddy.
PiggyBeng just refused to believe that Darrius can actually recognized his own name so soon so he tried calling Darrius’s Chinese name for the next test…
PiggyBeng: ‘Chen-chen’
Darrius still turned his head around and smiled too!
So to make sure that Darrius really know his ’stuff’, PiggyBeng tried one trick
PiggyBeng: ‘ah-tu kia’ (piglet)
Guess what??? Our little chubby cheeks never respond to that name! hahahahaha
Guess mommy’s milk is proving it’s superiority here eh?!

Darrius has been learning how to stand up by himself the past few days. Most of the time he will fall back down or kneel down just after a second or two but the last two days he seemed to have extended the duration and could stand for as long as up to +/- 1 minute holding the sides of his playpen.
During the earlier days the duration was too short for us to grab the camera and snap that special moment but I was lucky yesterday to be able to capture it. Guess most parents will always get extremely excited over stuff their babies does the first time.
PiggyBeng was rather excited or ecstatic to a point. He was hoping our boy will be able to walk during our trip to LA in late October so he won’t have to carry ‘a packet of rice’ too often…
I was rather pleased that Darrius’s development is right on track and everyday he will never failed to give me a little surprises on what he can do…
