A house with pool or without?

We have been doing lots of property inspections lately and sort of shortlisted a few houses. PiggyBeng has yet to make any official offers as he is still waiting for a house that comes with a pool! Perosnally I don’t fancy having a pool as the weather here is kinda crazy so chances of utilising the pool is very low. Also, if the kids goes to swim all the time means I have to do more washing :S

I’ll prefer to have a small yard where I can have a deck overlooking a water feature.  Those adagio water features look great! Have been browsing the site for a while but until we get a house all these are just empty dreams :P

Hopefully PiggyBeng can make up his mind soon!

The Loooooong watermelon

The past few weeks I have been buying some watermelon which we have never have chance to try before…

.

longmelon.

The loooong melon is with seed so it cost much lesser than those seedless but it is just as sweet and juicy. Also, it is cheaper by half too! Only 30 cents a kilo after 50% discount!

Getting a guitar from Cash Converter

Darrius came to us again asking if he could take up the guitar lessons the school is organizing with a third party. It seems that every term they will take in new students but I still have yet to look at how they conduct the classes since it is done during school hours.

However, I did spoke to PiggyBeng that we might let him have a go next term since it is not that expensive. Also, we found out that Cash Converter has loads of second hand guitars. Probably we can get one for him to start with. Maybe when he gets more pro he can get those way huge fuzz to make it better… well, I don;t know since I am not a music person :P

Erinne Turned ONE

Last Wednesday our Lil’ Dragon Girl turned ONE. Can’t believe how time flies!!!!

We did not do anything special for her celebration since we are so far away from all our friends and relatives so it was a family affair. After all, she won’t know anything yet. Daddy will compensate when she goes to school and will definitely have parties! :P

As usual, all the kids get their personalized birthday cakes…

.

erinnecake.

Instead of baking the usual butter/chocolate cake, I decided to make designed Swissroll instead as it matches the character that she loved. It is Hoot of Giggle & Hoot of ABC for Kids. Swissroll only uses corn oil so it is healthier than those denser cakes. After all, not everyone love cakes here and I don’t want to be the garbage truck to clean uneaten cake! :P

It was a good day with beautiful weather and she behaved well… and we went to TGI Friday for dinner… yeah, she can only have the chips! I did tried giving her some of the food we had but she just spit out everything. She only wanted the fries…

Initially we thought of blowing the candle in TGI Friday but the place got really crowded and so short of staff and it was getting dark too so decided to do it at home instead. Lil’ girl was just as happy and excited to see her cake with the lid candle. :)

Happy Birthday sweetie… Daddy, Mommy, Kor-kor and Jie-jie love you heaps! :D

Not getting any printer

Term 2 will start this coming Monday and we will be back on the school mad rush again. We are on daylight saving now so it gets bright later and gets dark earlier… just like losing lots of time actually.

Anyway, nothing much going on this term but Darrius will have some projects and excursions so I suspect there will be some home work to do. I was thinking of getting a printer so I can help him with his work and get them printed at home but PiggyBeng said that we hardly use the printer and since the reusable is pretty pricey here we decided to use online print solutions from eoncode.com instead.

Just need to prepare the work and send it to print… less one bulky thing in the house!

Little Dragon Girl is turning ONE!

I just can’t believe how fast time passes! In less than 5 days our little dragon girl will turn 1! I can still remember a year ago we were all so anxious on her arrival. As my parents were due to arrive supposedly 2 weeks prior to my due date but little dragon decided to come into this world early! And she is our first ABC too! Yes, Australian Born Chinese that is! :)

She has her kor-kor’s look but has her jie-jie’s character! Oh yes, she has a BIG character just like Ms Samseng! *shivers*

.

She has just started to stand on her own and did a little of cruising but still very much reluctant to walk. If we tried holding her she will make those jelly feet and end up sitting down. Well, no one wanted her to walk that early any way as she can be a little of a monster… :P

However, she is fast on speech as she can already call me Mama and her daddy dah-dah. When she sees me preparing her food she will call out ‘mum-mum’ and when she sees us holding the phone she will mimic us by putting her hand up to her ear and says ‘eh-loh’ which is so darn adorable! :)

It is with much regret that I can’t record most of her milestones here as she would not allow me to sit in front of the PC during the day so I have to steal time at night when she sleeps to do work on the PC.

There are just too many things to update that my to-do list is growing faster bean sprouts!

If he choose guitar

We have asked Darrius if he would want music lessons or have a birthday party this year and the little man has decided to have music lessons instead… though he still hinted that he wanted to have a party! Tried to reason to him that music lessons don’t come cheap here so he has to make a choice.

He has not decide to choose piano or guitar as the preferred instrument but I have a feeling he will go for piano. However, to get a guitar is cheaper than to get a piano so I know his daddy will try to convince his son to choose the cheaper instriment!

Anyway, it is easier to shop for guitar’s accessories since they are a lot more lighter than piano! :P I can find acoustic guitar tuner here at a reasonable price and they have a host of other things as well.

Thank God for Internet… making life more interesting! :)

Loving my Air Fryer

I am more and more in love with my Air Fryer as the food that came out really taste a whole lot better than I have expected! Though I don’t use it everyday but I do try to plan in some meals where I will use it to cook.

The best is all the food is evenly baked and so juicy!

Love love cooking chicken with it as I don’t have to deal with uncooked meat any more! Everything will be perfectly cooked now and not to mention quicker too!

Waiting for GE13

It has been rived that the Malaysian Goverment will call for general election soon. Everyone is pretty upbeat about it and kept wondering when the current government or specificially the PM would call for dissolvement of the parliament.

Though we are not in the country but are pretty updated by news and FB sharings. Many of my friends here planned to go back to vote if the time permit as many of us are hoping for a better government as the current ruling party has tarnished their image with lots of wrong doings…

We on the other hand is worried if the Ringgit will drop to the all time low against Australian dollar. PiggyBeng was thinking of withdrawing all his money now even the rates is not exactly favorable. Too bad he do not know how to buy gold bars as an investment else it would have a better ‘value’ should things gets ugly.

Anyway, I always leave all the money matters to him.

Biggest scare!

Yesterday was Good Friday so PiggyBeng was not working. However, he was working from home since the moment he wakes up and did not stop even for lunch! It was really annoying that he got stuck in front of his lappies the whole day!! After lunch he kept asking me to fill his water tumbler and I felt weird as it was quite a cool day and why is he drinking so much water???

Then just before dinner he told me something that almost sent me off my seat! He said there was blood in his pee! OMG! I double checked with him and asked if it is a lot of blood or just some traces of it? And he said ‘A LOT!’ He then told me he felt feverish and I told him to take a Panadol to bring his fever down but like an old bull, he refused. Then he went to pee again and I guessed the amount of blood that kept coming scared him so he decided to call the clinic and get an appointment.

Off he went at 8.30pm to the clinic and after an hour he messaged me that the doctor at the clinic was worried and told him to go to the hospital. Oh shiatz! That must be serious!!! So off he went to the A&E which happened to be just next door to the clinic. He has to go through some tests and was ordered stay on bed. He sent me some photographs of what they were doing with him while he was being monitored. Besides getting poked, he has his finger fixed on a finger pulse oximeter too as he was running a temperature at that time.

After a few rounds of poking to draw blood for testing, he was told to administer some IV drips… which was some kinds of antibiotics as they could not confirm what was wrong. They still need to run more tests to see if it is anything serious. He was home around 2am… phew~

It was a scary, scary night for both of us… *shivers*
