I miss it sometimes

One of the thing I miss when I get so stressed up being a full time mother is my days climbing the corporate ladder. Though I don’t earn mega bucks doing it but it does give me a sense of achievement and it also packed some excitement in my life.

So, what I used to do in the past?

I used to organize classes, seminars and sometimes exhibitions for the telco industry where I get to do a lot of stuff and meeting lots of people. Imagine in the late 90’s and early 2000’s telco was in the boom time. Everything was so new then (we are talking about video streaming, broadband and all those stuff which we can’t live without now!). Of course it was different from those Forex training seminars.

The one thing that I really miss is the travelling that comes with it. Thought it was hard work (I need to lug the big projector along on my flights!) but I get to enjoy the travel perks which PiggyBeng is having now!

*sigh*

Well, that was in the past… I wonder what made me trade all these for changing nappies and 24 hours feeding with the boobies!

Really useful kitchen gadget

A couple of weeks back, we went to shop at Jusco Perda on the Mainland after many months. In fact, the last time we were there was before baby G’s arrival! Yes, it was almost a year since our last visit. The place has sure changed quite a bit since.

There was even a new DIY shop next to the playland! That few units were empty for such a long time and I was glad there is finally a tenant who took up the place. So while waiting for Darrius enjoying himself at the giant gym, I brought Baby G to shop.

Among the things in the shop, I found this really cool kitchen gadget…

.

.

With this gadget, there will be no more leaky stuff that wet my little kitchen top bin! When we move in to our new place, I will definitely get one to put on my Elkay sinks in the kitchen.

Now, that reminded me to note down all the stuff I need to get for our new kitchen!

Digging out the old stuff

I often wonder if I actually put on weight or did I lose some??? During my last trip back to my parents’ place, I lugged a big box of old photos which I took when I was living in Singapore and Australia. Funnily, in some I looked really slim and in most I looked so fat and chubby! Gosh! Is the camera playing a trick on me or what?

The more recent ones are those when I was in Australia. I looked really chubby in most of the photos. Must be the good food my aunt was feeding back then. And of course the free flow of potato chips I had every day in uni! :P What to do, decent meals cost at least AUD8/plate so I have to rely on something that cost less and filling!

Besides the photos, I also brought back some old clothing. I have so many sets of power suits! Looked like I can’t seems to fit some of those which are more curvy ones (so does that means I am fat now?) but can still wear those that don’t have much cuttings. Some still looked so nice and new and I am sad if I have to throw them away. They are all so expensive!!!

Apart from the photos and power suits, I have a bag of mix and match stuff as well as some delicate clothing as well. Among them I found the G-string I bought at Fremantle out of impulse…. and it is so small that it only can fit Baby G now! I wonder why I did not buy any plus size lingerie back then knowing I will sure to blow up once I have kids??!!

Now, I am thinking of setting up an online store to sell away some of those stuff which are still in good condition but not sure if there will be anyone wanted to buy 2nd hand stuff that aged a decade old??!!

Baby G loves it!

Arrrrrrrrmmmmmmmh!

That was the expression Baby G gave us when she bites on the King of Fruit yesterday….

.

.

Initially I was quite hesitant to let her eat as the weather has been extremely warm of late. Wonder where are the rain clouds????!!! Since she don’t drink any water except breast milk, I worried that she might fall sick.

However, that little glutton kept staring at us while both PiggyBeng and myself was licking these milky fruit. After a few seconds she started to rock her high chair indicating that she wanted to have them too!!

Then I thought, maybe just one bite won’t be that harmful so there she goes! She don’t just have one but many more bites after that! She even smiled so sweetly at her daddy! These moments are more precious that gold coins I tell you!

Too bad, PiggyBeng is not a very good photographer when it comes to sizing the perfect moment! The above was the only shoot that is clear! Arrggh!

Now, this scene reminded me of one that we took of Darrius many years back…

A sinful day

Yesterday I had quite a sinful day!

To start up my day, I ate 3 slices of mini vanilla Swiss roll before sending Darrius to school. After which, I went for groceries shopping with Baby G at Tesco. When we were done, I can’t resist the nasi lemak sold by the Nasi Kandar shop there so I bought a packet home. Before eating, I decided to fry an extra egg for the nasi lemak. Ok, it was so yummy and satisfying!

Thought I should have some apidexin after that but I found a Connetto cone in the freezer and decided to have that! Sie-em-sie??? But I was really satisfied. *burp*

I got lazy after all the carbo and fat intake so did not cook. Instead I took the kids to KFC for lunch! Should I feel guilty???

Plans to bake some cookies

You know, I have not been baking any cakes/cupcakes/cookies for quite a long while. Can’t remember when was the last time I took out the flour! Since I have to start preparing for Darrius’s birthday party in his kindy, I thought I should experiment with a few new recipes before deciding what to bake for the party.

This weekend PiggyBeng’s aunt may dropped by too as one of her niece from her hubby’s site wanted to purchase an oven for her course and has asked me which oven should I recommend to her. I think my oven is quite good as it comes with an electric grill complete with a rotisserie as well. However, not sure if this model is still available or not. Anyhow, I am going to bake some Mickey cookies to test drive first so hopefully they came when the oven is churning out the cookies!

Back to the party plans… Darrius has requested for a Mickey Mouse Club House theme which should not be a major problem since Mickey Mouse stuff are quite readily available here. In fact I have lots of Mickey Mouse bento gadgets!

Lots of catching up to do

I know I have not been very regular in posting here and since it is a long weekend (actually I don’t have any weekends to start off with!!!) I thought I’ll try to squeeze in as much as I can since the kids has a temporary babysitter – the ever trusted idiot box!

And the Sheriff has been kind this week awarding me with some shopping allowances… :P Talking about that, I need to make a trip to 100Yen later to get some party pack stuff for Darrius’s birthday. Yes, I am going to prepare early this year!!!!

Then I have to go for my much awaited hair cut. I’ve never get about getting one done since Baby G turned 1 month old! Almost 9 months!!! Can you believe that?? The weight of my hair is wearing me down!

After that I need to go dig out the gold coin which I have been looking around for ages but still can’t find. Can’t remember if I have brought it along with me to Penang or it is still in my parents’ place.

Should you fight back when being robbed?

I am sure you have read about the story of a teacher who has been stabbed on the overhead bridge recently? Apparently she was being robbed and the bugger  stabbed her before running away and the poor lady succumbed to her injury even when passerby went to her aid after the attack.

It was such a pity she has to die this way. What is more disheartening, she was a breast cancer survivor and just when she overcame the illness, her life was brutally taken away.

According to the news report, she struggled with the snatch thief as she wanted to protect her handbag. Unknowingly, the stupid bugger has a knife which he stabbed her with when he can’t get what he wanted before running away.

The poor teacher should have let that idiot take her bag… rather than risk her life really…

From this incident and other snatch thieves stories, I guess we should all get ourselves a rfid blocking wallet so that we don’t have to worry when someone tried to snatch our bags. We should never fight back when we are faced with these kinds of situations as we will never know what our attackers are capable of. Money gone can be earned back but life gone means we are gone forever.

Looking for a wireless headphone

I am looking for a wireless headphones for my iPhone so that I can play some of the games quietly during the night. Currently, PiggyBeng has set it to silent mode but some of the games will be more fun and exciting if I can have the sound turned on. My old hands free set is not suitable so I have no choice but to invest in a new set.

Has been reading some of the latest headphone reviews but still can’t decide which is better. Of course gotta factored in the price since I am getting this on my own.

Looking forward to go to some of the phone stores to check out some of the compatible headphones available this weekend… Hope I can find the time since there are 1001 things I wanted to do!

The baby who don’t sleep!

I am turning into a real vampire soon! Yes, I want to suck blood!!!

You know, I have not have any decent sleep for… I can’t even remember since when???!!! The day I discovered I was pregger with Baby G perhaps? It was the nausea then the backache and now I have a baby who don’t sleep!!

When she was still weeks old I can’t sleep in peace since I have to make sure she don’t get SID as she is sleeping on tummy. Now that she is older and can sort of ‘help’ herself when she is lying down, she started to have disturbed sleep which could be due to teething. And since her teeth have erupted I can’t think of any other reasons that caused her to wake up so many times in the night! Ok, maybe she just wants to be boobed but can’t be as often as every hour right? Cause, she is not like that during the day.

I can’t even touch her else she will sure to move and of course wake up! She has never sleep more than 2 hours straight! If that ever happened, it is rarer than a gold coin! Even tiny little sound will sure to wake her up. This is how sensitive she is. And since the daddy snores like a dinosaur… you can go imagine! :(
