School band

Next year Drrius will be in Year 4 and it will be a very exciting year for him as he will be learning so much more things and doing a lot more. And yes, more home work and assignments too!

I have asked him if he would like to resume his keyboard lessons and he said he don’t quite fancy it so I asked if he would like to pick up guitar or saxaphone or any other musical instruments? He replied that he might want to the saxaphone. Would have to find out the cost for the course when school reopens next year though… Sadly his school do not have any school band else it will be a good starting point for him.

For now I can’t get him any saxaphone to play with so I won’t need the saxaphone mouthpiece yet. Would need to get one if he really end up picking up saxaphone though!

If your pets are sick

What do you do when your beloved pet(s) falls sick??? I know many of us in Asia will not hesitate to bring them to the vet right away but out here in Australia or other countries things might be different. Not every where there will be any veterinary available.

Therefore, it is important to keep our furry friends as healthy as possible so there will be less chance they need to visit the vet. We are fortunate now that we can purchase animal medication or supplements online. EntirelyPets Pharmacy is such a place that provide such services.

Lil’ girl loves her food

When we were back in Penang, Erinne was having a great time tasting all the food she never had before. She is not picky and she eats almost everything!!!

Here she was enjoying her first piece of apom bought at New Lane along Macalister Road…

My shoes crumbled!

I have not seen my some of my shoes left in my Penang home for the past 3 years so when I was back last month, I took them out thinking I could wear them. To my horror some of them crumbled….

Yes, my pair of Scholl that I hardly wear gone into pieces in the box! I paid RM100+ for this pairs of shoes and it was in very good condition when I left them. I should have brought it along with me if I knew it will turn this way!

Joining the band

The new school term just started and there are a host of activities for Darrius to pick. He managed to get a spot to do cricket for this term which is given free by the school. Then he has taken up swimming too with Glennedine in the swim school.

Just only the other day he came and asked me if he can join some of his friends to start a band. I was like???!! He did not do much on his keyboard lessons in the first half of the year so I wonder what can he contribute if he is in the ‘band’??? Kids these days….

Anyway, after a little probing, he said one of his friends’ elder brother has a synyster gates and is influencing the little brother!

Back in Malaysia for vacation

Yeap! After almost 3 years we finally made a trip back to Penang and KL during the Term 3 school holidays. It was just a 2 weeks break. This was the kids’ first trip back to see all their relatives. For Erinne, this was the first time she met up with all her relatives.

It was a good break though the weather was not too favorable as it was extremely hot and humid with many hazy days during our stay. It did rained quite a bit but generally it was hot.

We managed to savoured some of the food that we missed most and met up with quite a few friends and relatives. The kids had so much fun as they can play and go out everyday!

They are looking forward to go back again…

Starting new lessons

Darrius stopped taking his keyboard lessons the beginning of this term and we have yet to decide if he sould pick up anothr intrument if he should wanted to do them again. For now, he is more keen to learn swimming as summer is approaching!

Anyhow, I still have to evaluate for him which instrument is more suitable for him. We did agreed that guitar is the next best choice as it is cheaper and he can bring the guitar any where. So, I will have to start to Read Full Review of the pros and cons of learning guitar as well as the brands and types of guitars available.

Another heavy task for me!

De-stash my cloth diaper collection

Erinne is already 2.5 years old and soon I will be toilet training her once summer approaches to get her ready for play school when she turns 3.

Due to the high cost of water here, I have not been using my cloth diaper as much as I would love to. I have resorted to disposable for this reason. Also, most of the time it is cold and wet hence it takes a long time to dry the inserts since we do not have a dryer at home. There are limited clothe lines too.

Therefore, with heavy heart I am letting go of my beautiful diaper collection…

Some are pre-loved and some are brand new. If you are interested to purchase, please send me an email at ramblingmoo [at] gmail dot com.

I have extra inserts too if you needed more to rotate. :)

Outdoor Set

Finally spring is here and everyone is all excited with more sunny days ahead. A friend has given us a new outdoor set and we are excited to have more meals out in our alfresco area. So looking forward to have BBQ as well as steamboat sessions!

As the surface is made of wood, I have to be real careful when I place the steamboat pot on it as I do not want to get it burned. Luckily I managed to find fire retardent tablecloth here to protect the table’s surface.

The kids will be so thrilled when we can dine outdoor! :)
